The original 3 -- "A New Hope" (the first), "Empire Stikes Back" and "Return of the Jedi" -- all debuted first on CBS. Don't know when, but CBS's involvement started in the aerly-1980s. The newer Star Wars films -- "The Phantom Menace" and Chapter 2 (forgot title) -- debuted on Fox.
Edited by rugrats1 on 08/21/05 09:44 PM.

Episode 4-"A New Hope"(CBS, 1984)
Episode 5-"Empire Strikes Back"(NBC, 1987)
Episode 6-"Return Of the Jedi"(NBC, 1989 editied for length)

I taped the network TV premieres of Empire & Jedi when they originally aired. A New Hope also featured a 30 minute special hosted by Mark Hamill. BTW, the title of Episode 2 is "Attack Of the Clones".
______________
