The problem is, I think some of the songs they're playing are going to be deemed as "not acceptable" by the soccer moms who don't want to deal with little Mackenzie and Jacob wanting to know what a "disco stick" is and why that nice lady wants to ride on it. It's easier for them to switch to 3WS, Q or WSSH.

This might have worked 20 years ago but a lot of top 40 is so much rawer now.

Very true. The arrangements aren't really edgy, but the messages conveyed aren't exactly family-friendly. "Rockstar" by Nickelback, which has "drugs" in the chorus, has an 'edit' version where "drugs" is bleeped out. Many artists won't record a version of their song with a lyric or two changed. Some do, and some don't. "Makes Me Wonder" by Maroon 5 drops the F-bomb in its chorus, but the beat is so steady that if you filter out the word, you barely notice it.

hahahaha at mentioning that Nickelback song. When I first heard it in bleeped form, I thought they had to be saying "p***y" not "drugs."

It's like when they used to bleep the line out of Caddyshack about going to bullfights on acid.

Remember, folks: Everybody's got a [radio edit] dealer on speed dial...

Not sure how you were able to draw the word "p***y" out of that line, CRS. "A p***y dealer?" Never heard of it. A "p***y willow," maybe...

Where I heard them bleeping it is the chorus "the girls come easy and the drugs come cheap." I actually don't think they bleep the drug dealer on speed dial part, which is why I thought what I did.
