Star94 did it right!

They actually went out and hired a "Show!" A team that's worked together, has chemistry, and much upside. They weren't afraid to dip into their bank account to pay them, relocate them, and advertise the crap out of them.

The "Morning Mess" has already gotten the attention of many and they haven't even done one shift yet because Star did it right! Other stations could learn from them!

I wish I was Mark or Dan... they have good gigs. I'm just saying that Star did a much better job with the hiring, marketing, and build up to their new show than Project did with the Giant Show, Dave has done with Zakk Tyler, and The Bull has done with Cledus.

Yes, time will tell with all 3 shows but it helps when the station does it right.
Has anyone heard anything about Zakk's new show? Is the Bull advertising Cledus yet?
 
You have NO idea of what you're talking about. I have personally worked with Marco and I can tell you first hand this show WILL NOT MAKE IT!!! As far as spending money on this team AGAIN mistaken. These people are getting 1 1/100th of what Steve & Vicki were making. This show is blue and it's VERY immature. Star is making a HUGE mistake. How many 35 year old woman want to hear about a fat kid in a diaper or a girl sticking her hand in a box to touch human waste? Great idea Dan. Again I have intimate knowledge of Marco, Mikey and Shannon. All this talk of the NEXT great thing you guys are in for the surprise of your lives!! 1 year and the next show will dawn the airwaves of Atlanta I GUARANTEE it!!
 
The Bull is heavily advertising CTJ on the radio.

But perhaps the biggest jolt in Atlanta was when 'Moby In The Morning' was booted from Kicks (public reason, 'Too country')
Notice how many shifts they made within the years after that...

But Moby made it back to Atlanta country radio by way of Rome (South 107).

But Steve & Vicki are gone?
That's what I remember the most about Star 94's ads.

How bad has Atlanta gotten that they can't realize that radio needs a good shaking up.

As I said... time will tell. And a new show is not going to make the money Steve and Vicki were making. Point is, they hired a show that has worked together unlike Project's project. Which by the way, I heard that Shafee is making 40k. Wow... Mornings in market 9 and you're making 40 large!

Every show is a crap shoot in the beginning. No one liked the Regular Guys but they turned out to do pretty well. Dave is taking a BIG chance with Zakk. He's a rock jock! Definitely not geared toward females like Dave is now.

Did Star make a mistake with the Morning Mess?....don't know...but I'll be listening.
 
Notice Q100 is taking no changes .... in the promos for "Pay Your Bills" note that they say "The Bert Show pays your bills", not "Q100 pays your bills."

Of course they are, Q100 doesn't have anything else. The Bert Show is they're life blood.
 
dude, why so negative? Let's just see what happens, I listened in Indy, it really grew on that market. That show was designed to be a band aid after the HOST went off and...oh, YOU probably know, I mean it wasn't that long ago that you were a longshot to return to the biz, and it took a name change to do it!!!!!!! I agree it's Bert's market, but cheers to whoever attempts to go outside the box to beat a competitor! Bad thoughts, bad feelings, it all comes around...It might be a great show there, or, a horrible one, and I agree we should know in a year. Happy New Year, be safe!!!
 
"Nice job Mark and Dan!" It was probably more Don and Mark. But whatever, I thought they got lucky. I mean the secret was out most of the year that Vikki was leaving. They were close to noone til a station in Indy changed formats and these guys were suddenly out of a job.
Let's hope they keep their job longer than Mark Dan and Don. I mean come on Star is still for sale, when the Lincoln radio group is completely gone I'd bet the new morning team has a new GM, new PD and no more Lincoln execs. The very length of service and past performace delivered by Steve and Vickki for starters, probably means the current execs are in a pay range far higher than the norm in Atlanta and way higher than a new owner is most likely to want to continue. Cost cutting can run very deep and honestly Star 94 is a whole new game in 08 with many unknowns, especially who the new owner will be.
 
Well the "Morning Mess" was live this morning. Wasn't expecting them until Wednesday.

The bit (that I guess they were replaying from their last gig) ... a prank call to a nail place to have grandma's nails done because her funeral was the next morning was tacky IMHO.

Agreed. They have been here (and on Star 94's payroll) since October. You'd think they could have come up with something better, but maybe they'll improve with time.
