Has anyone heard anything about Starfest? They were promoting it for the past few months as a replacement for Music Midtown...but it seems like they've tapered of the promotion.

Did it fizzle out? Or was their winter book promotion the promotion of Starfest?

I spoke with Mark Kanov a few days back and he said Starfest is set for July but didn't provide details of locale or acts. It was odd for them to promote the event so far in advance with zero details but it may have been because of the fact there is no Music Midtown this year. Star 94 has never gotten along with Peter Conlon and has never participated in Music Midtown. (And they were sponsors of On the Bricks after 99X & Peter Conlon split off and did Downtown Rocks in 2002.)

Cant imagine any major talent lined up yet...or we would here at least a tease. probably still a work in progress or contracts prohibit them from mentioning it yet.

Dont worry max, rodney wouldn't give away your allstar line-up including Smashmouth, Fastball, and Savage Garden.

LOL!! That's classic, and funny because it's SO true! Don't forget, Dishwalla!

I actually heard a quick thing on Star TODAY for Starfest, but it just advertised Train. and Pink. How is it an all day festival? You'd need at least 10 decent bands or acts to do that - seems odd.

If you take a peek at Star94.com, you can see that they currently have 16 bands lined up to play. Granted most of them are local bands as opposed to national acts, but that's how you fill up the entire day.

Currently, Starfest is set to have two stages: one for the national acts and one for the local acts. The local acts' stage is rumored to be in the middle of Atlantic Station and won't cost any money. Somewhere else, the national stage act will be gated off, and tickets are needed to watch.
