Had lightning pop a Starguide III card...where are these being sent for repair these days, where can spares/loaners be obtained? A Google search shows a lot of info on how to install & configure, but not much in the repair/replace department.
Our company, (salem) deals with Clear Channel Satellite for starguide stuff and repairs. I think that the repairs are farmed out to DGS Starguide in texas
Yep - sounds about right. I had to deal with them last year - they will send you a fourm to fill out with credit card info. I think (if memory serves right) its a division of VIVX now.
Charlie Wooten in Panama City, FL does these. Last info I had, he mailto:[email protected] them for $85 a pop. Here's a link: [email protected]. Good luck.
You may want to check around with anyone that's an ABC Radio Networks affiliate. They're transitioning to a new delivery system and gradually replacing their StarGuide III platform with an XDS system. However, the stations own those StarGuide III's as part of their contracts. Once the new XDS receivers are up and running, there will be many surplus StarGuide III receivers and cards around.
