I had to re-check my calendar this morning after reading Mike Klein's column in the Inky to make sure that today wasn't the 1st of April. Mikey reports that WPEN is looking for...paraphrasing here..."talented local unknowns for the nighttime show on WPEN" called something like "The 700 Level" or somesuch reference to the destroyed Vet. Oy vey!
Bulletin: all GM has to do is to open a Philly phone book and plunk an index finger down anywhere to find people more talented than most of what they have. Philly sports fans are dedicated, opinionated, passionate, die-hard observers of the Phils, Iggles, Flyers, Sixers, Hawks and a dozen other local sports-teams. Any of them would be an improvement, imho.
What's next...a Pilsbury-style bake-off for news-update anchor? I have a Jewish apple-cake recipe that's to die for; maybe I'll enter.
