Didn't take long for word to get out. Cheers to Forever/Galli--a sweep of the top 5 between 'em: Frog, Lite, Quick, Bus & Hot. Condolences to 3WZ, dropping to sixth. Bring up the rear: Wowy, RSC, G101, and a 3-way tie for 10th between MAJ, Buzz & Lewistown's WIEZ. As expected, there's a logjam in the middle with 5 stations within 3 shares between 3rd and 7th. Looks pretty messy from here!

If those are really the top five, they are all Forever. LTS still belongs to Forever, and even when the sale closes, I'd wager the WLTS calls and format stay with Forever, with Galli picking up 94.5 with new calls and a new format.

3WZ drops to sixth? Truly a surprise to me. There was a lot of instability in the last few months with all of the frequency and format changes. I thought that the rock steady 3WZ would do well amid all of the changes everyplace else. Same with WRSC.

Well, RSC kinda figured to drop after losing the 970 simulcast and without football or elections. 3WZ? Hard to tell. All I got was 12+ shares. If it turns out their cume jumped, it might have to do with "sampling" from listeners cut loose by the shakeup; that can slice TSL. It will also be interesting to see where Lite got their boost; maybe the 45+ crowd finally made the switch.

Could it have been, dare I say it, Bob and Sheri? I know the ink in the new book is still wet, but I will be more than curious to see what happens a book or two down the road when things are a little more settled.

I wouldn't write off WOWY completely yet. If you look at the 12+ numbers (which I'm not at liberty to reveal, of course) you'll see they had a nice gain, bouncing back from two "off" books. Almost back up to their Fall '03 level.

In view of their performance in the spring survey, nobody should write off either WOWY or Lite. When you get past all the BS slung on boards like this it's performance that counts and both did very well. All the Forever stations did well. Maybe Lite's young numbers were a fluke, maybe not. Maybe they did something right and should be congratulated for a job well done.

You can be sure that Nick Galli might be buying WLTS but Forever will keep the format, especially after the numbers that the station generated.

You guys are scaring me! 3 days ago, Forever and or Galli were gonna blow up either Lite or WOWY depending on which one was in the tank more, WOWY’s music was too old two months ago…Lite was just a throwaway station and the weakest of all the Forever stations…Delilah was dropped by 3WZ and made a mistake picking her up…you were looking for Lite to tank because of Bob & Sherry. Carol or Nick should take one of them JACK and get those ALL IMPORTANT 18-34 numbers. The EVIL EMPIRE does nothing but ruin stations. You can’t be top 3 unless you have Mitch Craig as your voice guy…The bible says 3WZ is the second coming, they’re all over the mall, they own Channel 4 – they can’t be beat (are they taking out another full page ad saying they have the #1 morning show 300 years in a row?) You think you know, but we know you don’t know what you think you know. By the way, Esquire Nick Galli gets the 94.5 frequency, not the format or calls…start guessing the format and saying how it will never work…and don’t forget to say “Forever will never let 2510 do a format to get in their way”…don’t forget the how cheap they are thingy too…DON’T START THINKING THEY HAVE A CLUE NOW!

Not me dude. If you look back, I don't think you'll find me saying any of that. I may have bashed Bob and Sherri now that I think about it.

There is a covenant not to compete for 107.9. There might be one for WOWY too, that says they can't change the format. I have said all along that Forever will keep the Lite format. I'll tell you right now that 94.5 will be Jack or some variation. I'd listen.

I always felt that the ratings were a quick snapshot of time and performance, especially in the small markets...let's face it the sample size is too small and changes with each ratings period. smaller sample less statistical reliablility. Major markets bigger sample more accuracy.....this is why motor vehicle safety inspections are a joke...the car is in compliance with safety rules etc. THAT DAY...meanwhile the sticker says its ok for another year...if the brakeline goes the next day obviously the sticker is inaccurate. Take the info provided analyze it discuss it and then Move Forward. Maybe some day station owners will see that Eastlan has developed a system that is aimed at small markets....Arbitron has the brand and it is accepted by the folks throwing the money so it has validity. Thats it. And on the 3wz...They are a good consistent station....however no one is #1 forever....remember a station called WXLO New York 99X....Everyone told Jerry Clifton he could NEVER beat WABC and Rick Sklar...guess what he did..and 99x and WKTU drove WABC to talk (along with the migration to FM STereo)So whether its one shotgun jingle, Steve Weed and Joe McCoy(a future cbs fm pd) on the air and Jerry Clifton doing his own imaging...or Dan Ingram and a $10,000 Pams package its the Listener who makes the choice. one last thing....I like the "we play everything format" i listen to 937mikefm.com everyday- do I think its a long term viable format no...unless your name is on the station license, the format speculation is just that..............see you on the weekend....

Ditto! Steve Weed? Former Gannett Steve Weed? You left out Paul Drew, Todd Storz, Buzz Bennette, Bart McLendon, Jerry Cagel ...and Joel Denver (just kidding). Remember the old saying - what do you call a PD who has never won at more than one station a consultant!

FOR ALL WHO NEED TO UNDERSTAND SC

Forever Does better radio. PERIOD. 3WZ is equally as good (with a better philosophy), but its only a matter of time until they find it tough to compete with only one station. They'll make it work. It's the same problem that REVV has... but Revv just SUX. :::insert shilton, body by victoria, ajontheradio, every ex simpson dj ever post here slamming me:::

Oh, and Arbitron is terribly innacurate, but don't expect to be told that when you're sitting in the GM's office with a pink slip in your hand.

There ya go, radio in SC in two paragraphs. Bye.

I think SOMEONE just got a raise and an attitude adjustment in one clip perhaps.
Flashback to YOUR OWN POST...these are YOUR WORDS...
"Forever is SUPER conservative and SUPER uncool."

How is it that the Super Conservative and Super Uncool does radio better??? Interesting Flip Flop of opinions if you ask me.

Oh and I won't tear apart your comments on WGMR aside to say that we seem to have a nice listener base and a GROWING client base that seem to think we sound pretty darn good. I talk to many of them all the time, fans and clients and people say they like what we're about. I gave away $101.00 last week to a 30 something woman who listens to us FAITHFULLY ALL THE TIME because she thinks the other guys sound to "kiddy".

Don't need you to take the wind from our sails...we know who is listening. If you wanna buy into the Forever is better banter...good for you but remember you were singing a different tune not so long ago.
