static on the FM dial in Las Vegas??!!

Have each of my car radios gone bad or is there something wrong on the dial? I experience static on several stations routinely as I drive around the Valley. Plus the boom box in my office cannot tune several known stations. I’ve noticed this phenomenon in the past and it usually happens around NAB but this time it seems persistent KKLZ ,KOMP, KVEG, KLUC, KXPT, and KXTE all seem adversely affected. KWNR seems like the strongest signal. Related? I’m curious…

We put the 98.9 translator from 97.1 back up a little while ago and it's doing fine. An older Optimod processor doesn't give it quite the sound as the new Omnia on the main 97.1, but it's still pretty darn good. I'll be moving an Omnia to the translator as soon as I'm able to get the HD running on 92.3 with a new dual processor on Potosi. Meanwhile the point's signal is still pretty darn good in Henderson and over most of the market. The translators purpose is to cover the areas where the front end overload from Black Mt. Henderson is just to much for most radios. An A-B comparison between 97.1 adn 98.9 is the only place most folks will notice the difference.
