Indy Rock Stations
Enough metallica, please.
Here's what I thought would be good for the Indy rock station scene:
X-103 can drop the active rock or at least scale it way back. They can be more of a true modern rocker with some college rock. For example, scale back on the "mainstream metal" and fill in with more music that dave would play on sunday mornings.

That would let Q95 become more of a true rock station. They can still play the same classic rock they have been but place the active rock that left X-103.
(Q95 - Indy's home for true rock 'n' roll)
Then 'KLU can go true classic rock playing classic rock from the British Invasion and mod stuff from the 60's to rock from the 80's. That would pull in true classic rock fans and SOME displaced oldies fans.
92.3 WTTS is a whole 'nother story. I have always thought they could clean up in Indy. I know it's a Bloomington based station but if I can here the station nonstop from Tipton to Louisville, there is so much possibility. From what I can gather, officially they are an adult album alternative station. I have never understood playing so much classic rock. There are already 2 other stations playing classic rock. With so many 20 and 30 somethings listening to the radio or listening to their iPods and satellite radio, why not play more of a mix of a heavy rotation of new and classic adult album alternative with some modern, college, and indie rock thrown in. This would be a huge draw.

Now, I am not in the business but I have been an avid fan of radio all my life. I have given this a great deal of thought, and i thought this was a good way for all the rock stations to differentiate themselves and carve themselves a niche. Rock is such a huge spectrum in music and radio. I believe that there is room for a few different rock stations specializing in different subgenres of rock.
What do you think?
