Your mother RESERVED the call letters. The FCC allows the buyer of a radio station to reserve call letters on behalf of a seller, but until a deal has been consumated, you are not allowed to use them.. also, you are NOT the legal owner of the facility until the consumation notice has been filed, which it hasn't.
Why does it matter anyways? Your station is off the air, you finally reported it on October 29th after way more then 30 days off the air.
How can you be on the air at 5KW as your STA says? Your transmitter blew up and can't be on the air at all.
Plus, I hear the reason that Clear Channel got The Dennis Miller show is because Westwood One looked at your little pissant peashooter signal that was off the air and offered it to a station that was ACTUALLY ON THE AIR and had a much better signal in the market then you do.. Not to mention, the proven financial ability to remain on the air for longer then 6 months...
So far, you have nothing and have proven nothing.
You're all talk and no action, blowing alot of steam and putting on a good show.. with no results.

You should also re read the STA. It says that we are taking it off the air, then on December 1st resuming at 5 KW for 30 days until we finish new tower site set to go online on January 1st at full 10KW. The current transmitter site was never configured correctly and not to mention it was never maintained. The new tower site covers 90% of the C.O.L. and puts a city grade signal into Tallahassee. As you know the minimum is 70% of the C.O.L. to be covered. The choice of the current tower site was a horrible choice because they got the land cheap or free and it sits at a very high point which would be great if it were an FM...

You can't move a tower and change tower sites till you've filed an application to do so even if the signal still covers all of your COL.. and I don't see any sort of modification application or STA for the new site on file.

Previous posters over the years have called Tallahassee the "worst AM market in the country." Are you sure it's a good idea to try to put a new AM signal over Tallahassee? AM radio has been dead there all of my life so you're going to have a tough time even reminding people how to tune in an AM station.
Oh, back to giving you a hard time, I thought it took years to get approval to move the site of an AM transmitter. Your post makes it sound like you plan on doing it all by the end of this year.

Charlie Gee said:I think that is a very optimistic time line especially if there is a proposal to move the site.
get building permit and zoning approval
Get FCC approval
Prepare/clear site
install ground system
install tower base and guy anchor footings
build tower
install lighting
install ATU
and/or phasor if adding directional
and can you even get a new daytime DA?
or must it include night time?
build transmitter building
install transmitter
IF adding directional tune and proof pattern
Six months would be optimistic!

transmitter building is built and ready to plop down with new transmitters in it, sounds like a 30 day process to me as the FCC approval will take 7 days

I fear that whoever your broadcast attorney is , is not communicating well with you.. most of the statements you are putting on this board would classify you as someone who should not be let loose in a radio station.
You have NO clue with regards to engineering matters or FCC procedures. You talk a good game but are nothing but show and smoke. In addition, your fixation with call letters is absurd and even the most entry level broadcasting school student that you can't serve a major market from a town 30 or 40 miles away even if you do have a city grade signal.
Your love for Cabo Wabo makes me wonder why you're not there.
As well, I've been told it's FACT you've sent your resume to other radio stations.. if you in fact, own a station, why do you need so desperately plead to other stations for work?
And don't say you haven't done it..you've applied at MY station!
I see on your site where it says your office at the radio station is open 10am to 3pm. Sorry bub, you're violating an FCC law there.. as the FCC says you MUST be there 8 hours during the REGULAR BUSINESS day, which can be 8am to 4pm, 9am to 5pm, 10am to 6pm...10am to 3pm DOESN'T cut it!
AM 1020 isn't legally WSBX yet either! Yet, I see it on your website and hear it on your webstream...

But come on, Woody is the Raido God.. he knows all, wether it's engineering or programming. He doesn't even need a lawyer.
oh, and the reason AM 1020 isn't LEGALLY WSBX yet? You simply RESERVED the call letters. The Fee paid was THE FILLING FEE. The FCC database still shows it as WJEP.
It takes a few weeks to a month or so before the new calls are approved.
