Station For Sale Anybody Have Any Idea Which One It Is

Bryan College Station or Waco Temple?

KVST/Willis?? I don't think so. New Wavo just sold KVST 103.7 to Cumulus 2 years ago, and went to the trouble and expense to move then KUST/Huntsville down to Willis to continue K-Star country for Montgomery County at the 99.7 frequency. That would be a huge loss for North Houston if K-Star is indeed sold. Reading over the specs, boy it sure does sound like KVST, though. I'm not sure if A&M is in the listenable area for KVST. I think I'll post this on the Houston board and see what I come up with.

It doesn't have to be A&M... "major state university"... Sam Houston State University.

Well, it did say Major.

No, over in the Brazos Valley, there is KNFX on 99.5.

It looks like KVST. They've had their studios in Conroe for some time now. It doesn't quite get into B/CS. gotta get about 15 miles east to pick it up.

Brokers are not anxious to spend a lot of time catering to "tire kickers" as they say in the automobile business. If you call a broker the first thing they want is your signature on a "Non disclosure agreement" so you can't come back here and tell all the rest of us who it is, and second they want you to demonstrate you have the finances to actually buy the station if you like it.

NOPE!! IF you read the sale posting, it is a Class A for sale....99.7 in Willis is a C3 not Class A.....also it covers Montgomery Co.....almost 400000 strong....It is NOT Ben Amato's station..Remember Class A is 3-6 KW at 300ft max...
99.7 Willis is 450ft at 20kw iirc....

In fact, after rereading it, I THINK it is KZRC in Bay City......that station has been for sale for years...and 750K for a Class A down there is a waste of money (2% pop growth is a giveaway....Conroe and the Woodlands has a 20% or more pop growth now)

CW, the station in Willis, TX, KVST, is in fact a Class "A" or the equivalent of 6kw at 100 meters radio station. Its channel is 259A at 98.3 MHz.
Sorry.

CW was right about KVST being on 99.7. But you're right about it being a Class A, with 2,550 watts at just over 500 foot, which maxes it out.

KZRC Markham/Bay City was sold recently for $400,000 to Edwards Broadcasting (R.E. Witkovski). The sale was approved in July.

Who'd be that impressed with 2% growth? I think it's a misprint, and that the folks who are guessing KVST might be right. The "growth corridor" and "major state university" points seem to fit. If that's the case, though, the $750K price tag sounds a little low to me. And would Amato really want to get out of the radio business?
