Anybody know why the tv stations are using their analogue and digital IDs? For example: "WABC-TV, New York WABC-DT, New York"?

It seems to me that "WABC-TV, New York" ID is old news, left over from the final transition date and they have been too lazy to change it and since it happened in June, new graphics would wait until the fall schedule to debut.

I always hope I'm wrong on topics such as this one...

Not sure why a station would be using BOTH. The FCC is allowing stations to either: a) retain the -DT suffix (e.g., WABC-DT); or 2) return to your station's original call letters (e.g., WABC-TV). You're just supposed to let the FCC know what you decided to do.

I manage a station in the Midwest and we decided to return to our original call letters, dropping the suffix. Some of our viewers seemed confused by what DT meant; some thought it meant "direct TV" or "dish TV."
