Station in Pearson talk of the town

Two weeks ago I was with my mother in Douglas GA and she told me about this dj that was on Saturday night's. She told me he was the talk of the town among the women, so last weekend i was in Douglas and this guy is great. He was doing a request type show but had a lot of poems and simple advice for dating couples. Never gives him name??? Just a great show if you like the romantic style.
If you are in Douglas Ga area you need to give him a listen.

Jill,

What are the station call letters and the AM or FM dial position?

They are using the ABC AC format. The night guy's last name is Kane but I can't think of his first. Are the ABC guys based out of Dallas or guess it doesn't matter any more--they can be anywhere.

Yes, ABC's satelitte music networks are on Montfort Drive in Dallas, except Radio Disney... it is in LA/Hollywood.

The guy is local...my mother called the station to ask and they said the guy is a local dj they are abc but the is guy does the show for them.

Hate to disappoint (Re: Station in Pearson talk of the town)

Gosh, I hate to disappoint but Brian Kane is off the network. Great jock ... love the way he makes the callers the stars of his show. It's no wonder local folks think he's local ... other real local jocks should listen and learn. Given all the ragging about network and "corporate" radio (ie; Jerry Del, etc.) its great to see it working for a small market station like this one. I suspect they actually do air a live and local morning show though who knows.

I was hoping for competition between the satellite radio feeds. It seems Mr. Kane may be an exception to the rule. I also don't see that the music is becoming less stale. So we have the status quo but on a canned scale. I wish that stations still had local air staff to let us know what to do if there is an emergency, etc.

No clue about the night show, but the station

is WPNG....or used to be anyway. Ron O'quinn's son, Adam, was the manager for a number of years....but have lost track of him and his dad.

Wow, thanks for all the kind comments! Even though they were from 2008. I'm still alive and producing WABC/Citadel's nationally syndicated http://Facebook.com/DougsRedEyeRadio
