Station on 87.9?

Just for grins I sometimes leave the car radio on 87.9 because there is nothing better to listen to. :) That being said, last Saturday around noon while driving around the Dade City area I picked up a hint of music on 87.9 and then it faded away. Based on the signal strength I am assuming it was not local to the Dade City - Zhills area. Anyone aware of anything running on FM Channel 200 in the Tampa Bay area?

You were probably listening to a nearby cars Ipod or satellite receiver's modulator. Many of them convert to 87.9. so they can be heard on the car radio.

From my archives at https://sites.google.com/site/floridadxn/florida-low-power-radio-stations with new comments in brackets:

87.9 MHz (LPR) "Dade City Community Radio"; see 1610 kHz “WDCX” entry. Formerly on 102.9 MHz. Active since 1999. [Not sure if currently active here or on 1610 -- I occasionally hear from him but it's been a little while in regards to WDCX].

87.9 MHz (LPR) Joyland Drive-In, Dade City; active during movie times. [Currently active - this tip came in just a few days ago].

The iPOD/Sirius-XM micro transmitter factor is also indeed very plausible. Drive a long stretch of Interstate with the dial set to 87.9 and you'll hear lots.

That might be it. They run a flea-market on Saturdays and Sundays, so maybe they are piping music? Dade City is pretty small.
