Station on 93.7 calling itself "The Pulse"?

I live in Phoenix. Normally, when I tune to 93.7 on my car radio, I can faintly hear CHR/Pop KRQQ "93.7 KRQ" from Tucson, AZ.

However, this morning, when I tuned to that frequency, I heard "Time" (I think that's the title?) by Hootie & the Blowfish. When the song ended, the announcer said "You're on the Pulse". The announcer didn't mention "93.7" (at least when I was listening), which makes me think that this station was running a satellite service. Within a few minutes, I was able to pick up KRQQ again, but I think it was going back and forth with this "Pulse" station.

I did a search on radio-locator.com, and the only licensed 93.7 in Arizona is KRQQ.

So I'm wondering if I somehow picked up an out-of-state station...is anyone aware of a station on 93.7 calling itself "The Pulse" with a format that would include a song like "Time"?

That would be Sirius Channel 9. You were picking it up from someone in the next car, no doubt.

WOW...I hadn't even considered that! I'm certain this is the first time I've picked up a signal from someone's car FM transmitter.

Thanks so much!

Those FM sat radio xmitters can be rather good. Mine's on 93.7 too... I know if you are on a road trip following someone you could probably listen to their radio the whole way! <P ID="signature">______________

I was scanning during a road trip once and locked in on a really snappy station. No Id's, just music. It would fade a little from time to time.
I didn't realize I was listening to the guy's IPOD or MP3 player in front of me until he passed a car and I chose not to do so immedately.
