93.5 signed on as WXRY and played Schulke's syndicated (reel to reel) Beautiful Music format.

I don't suppose anyone knows where to find Schulke's music collection?

I was among those briefly employed by Bresson-Hafler at the changeover from Yes to Kicks back in the 90s. The changeover resulted in the loss of one huge piece of on-air talent -- Yes's afternoon guy (Greg ____?). He was edgy, creative, and as I remember, a pretty nice guy, too. He reminded me a lot of another guy I worked with in Chattanooga during the 80s named Greg Page. Not the same guy. I think Greg left Columbia for Virginia when Yes went country. We lost a good one, but GM Frank and new PD Ed didn't need him anymore.

I think your referring to Greg Frye. IIRC, he went on to Power 98 in MB and stayed there after the station became Mix 97.7 in 1994. Last I've heard, he went to Michigan to work at 100.5 The Fox in Saginaw, but that was well over a decade ago.

Another good air talent was Allen Orsini (sp?). He was Yes's night jock during much of the station's existance and stayed after Yes went Country. He wound up at Eagle 97 WGH-FM in Norfolk, VA after leaving Columbia.

Robyn, I think Greg actually worked at Power before he worked at Yes. Regardless, after Saginaw, he went out to LA to work at Network 40 with John Kilgo(whom he worked for at Power) and Dwayne Ward. You're right, Greg is a superior air talent. Funny as hell, too. As for Orsini, he's now head of programming at CapSan Broadcasting out of Virginia Beach (which owns 4 stations here in the Outer Banks). Good guy.

Alan's wife, Betsy, used to be John Wrisley's producer at WVOC. When she and Alan relocated to Tidewater, Betsy went to law school. Gasp! Another lawyer! Last I saw, she was working as a prosecutor. I'd hate to be a Defendant with Betsy prosecuting!
