All the clear channel FM stations I found on the web in houston are playing heavy music rotations, with ocasional updates in fact all night mix 96.5 instead of broadcasting their AM sister station just ran liners between every song to say "tune to our AM station for news or visit our storm coverage website."

KRBE had coverage all night, I listened to it on the web here, they did a split show from Dallas and Houston taking telephone calls and ocassionally playing a song or two to lighten the mood.

Ch2 and Ch11 are both doing wall to wall coverage on the web with live streaming!

In fact, the WWL Stream from Yahoo has now changed to the KHOU Feed at least check.
______________

not sure what market you are listening to. The CC FM's are taking KTRH at the top and bottom of every hour. KTRH and KPRC have been in long form since yesterday. Even put Chris Baker back on KPRC. Infinity is doing a group feed from their country stations taking calls and stuff. Cox is running Channel 2 TV and left the building i guess and well Cumulus is, as always a joke. The alleged news channel is yammering about nothing and the Rock 103.7 is just playing music because no one listens anyway so why bother. And KFNC is so bad they won;t even simulcast it. Very sad.

YES KTRH is doing wall to wall but their SISTER FM stations are running mostly music. Mix 96.5 is playing AC, with occasional talk and cut ins except last night between 7p-6a they where running liners between songs and commericals to instruct listeners to listen to their AM sister. At least that's what I heard last night.

Re: KRBE

KRBE is telling people that are leaving for San Antonio and Austin to check out other AM stations for news coverage and their not even co-owned stations! Kudos to KRBE for giving people places to tune for hurricane coverage.
______________

KUHF-FM 88.7 has teamed with ABC-13 KTRK and has been wall to wall coverage for the last 30 hours or so while all the other stations in town have been playing music. Our web site is at www.kuhf.org, the web site for ABC-13 is at www.ktrk.com

I know this much since I've been pretty much living at Camp Cox since yesterday:

KTHT has been simulcast on KKBQ since 6:00 last night. All the Cox stations have been doing news and info for the past two days, playing songs only when the jocks are tired and need a break. KKBQ/KTHT/KHPT/KLDE will simulcast KPRC-TV after 7:00 when the building locks down.

When the KPRC simulast will end depends on the condition of the facility. I'm hoping for the best, and it looks like they're prepared.

As for my day job, we're hoping the roof stays on the factory and the power stays on afterwards. I've never been through something like this, so I just don't know what to expect.

Being on the air today was one of the most emotionally draining things I've ever done. You feel helpless when you're talking to someone who has been stuck at a rest area since 4:30am with no food, no water, and no gas. Those are the people who are going to keep me awake at night for the next couple of days.

According to the crawls, KTSU, KXYZ, and KMNY/Dallas are running KPRC audio. KHJZ/KILT-FM/KIKK along with KRBE will run KHOU-TV. I was surprised that KHOU wasn't mentioning KILT-AM 610 as a simulcast partner. Are they running something else on Sports Radio or did someone at KHOU forget that there's a KILT-AM?

Stay safe guys. I'm off to take a shower and then fill the tub.
______________

I Know exactly what you are talking about I have been on the air during several of these storms and it has always had that efect on me.
Take care and keep your head down.
I am camping out at the station to make sure that we are able to stay on the air
so it may be a long night.

KPRC has also added 97.9 The Box to its list, giving it 7 FMs and 2 AMs ... the widest coverage by far.

Thanks, John. I just checked you guys on the mod monitor and so far you're doing a fine job. :)

We've had a few brownouts here (and every time it makes the UPS siren go off in the hall) so noone is sleeping very well... but so far so good, and so far we're on shore power.

Looks like out of all the Clear Channel stations at 1:40am only KTBZ and KLOL isnt Simulcasting the Coverage of KTRH. I understand the reason of KLOL not in on the simulcast as they are trying to be a spanish more than an english speaking station and I don't think CC has many Spanish speaking people in CC Houston. But why is KTBZ on autopilot and music

I haven't checked-it-out closely, but if you haven't already, you can add KXYZ and even, I think, their sister station KMNY in Dallas-Ft. Worth.
______________

I had The Buzz on... they took the reports at the top and bottom of the hour all night with a live jock in the studio.

At least we now know what it takes to get a live DJ in the Buzz studios overnight. I think it's better that they usually don't have anyone in that slot though.
