Station Swap- KAHL 1310 and 95.3 KVWG

Why would Univision want 95.3 in Dilley?

Univision wants KVWG-FM so it can upgrade KCOR-FM 95.1 and move it closer to San Antonio. It needs KVWG to get it out of the way.

KVWG already is out of the way, along with KVIC in Victoria. Here's the original posting: www.radio-info.com/smf/index.php/topic,54574.0.html

Looks like it's probably a matter of Univision keeping it under the ownership cap, because there's no way KAHL and KVWG are of equal value.

The story that I heard was a few months old it looks like. I can't remember exactly when or where I heard it. So, take it for whatever you feel it's worth. That story was that RadioWorks had to downgrade two of its stations to accomodate the KCOR-FM upgrade and wanted something in return. So, Univision agreed to swap KAHL, which RadioWorks was already operating, for KVWG to get it and KVIC out of the way.

I definitely agree with you that KAHL and KVWG-FM are not anything near equal value. Even though it's not the best signal in San Antonio and is nothing more than stick value to Univision, it has to be worth way more than a 100 watt class A in Dilley. I could spit from one end of its 60 dBu contour to the other!
