station turnover

The Atlanta stations went through a period where they kept reporters and anchors for quite a few years. You still see Don McClellan and Joyce Oscar on WSB. However, it seems that the reporter turnover has been greater lately. Is there a reason? Are they leaving for more money, better jobs, or just fed up with Atlanta (the city and the station management)?

Also, who are some of the big names that have left recently? Who is still left?

There are still plenty of reporters in Atlanta that have made their career here.
Atlanta over the last few years hasn't been as good at retaining and developing
young talent for the future but we still have those listed below that know this city.

Some of the better veteran Atlanta reporters are:

Paul Crawley - 11Alive (one of the better story tellers)
John Shirek- 11 Alive (a solid give me the facts reporter)
Marc Pickard- 11 Alive (good at adding a human touch to a story)
Morse Diggs - Fox 5 (knows Atlanta, the people and history)
Jeff Dore - WSB (probably the best at telling a story)
Sally Sears - WSB (tenacious and knows Georgia)
Lyn Harasin - WSB (I like her delivery and command of a story)

Other longtime Atlanta reporters:
Mark Winne WSB
Pam Martin WSB
Richard Belcher WSB
Dennis O'Hayer 11Alive

Don't forget Amanda Davis. She has been at WAGA for a long time. I think she used to go by Beville or something that started with a 'B'. Warren Savage has been on WSB for at least 9 years. Most of WSB's weather people have been there a long time too. Looks like there might be some sort of pattern here.

She started in Atlanta on Channel 2 during their 2-15 minute newscasts when they split the 6am hour with ABC News for a while before going all local in that hour.
