Stations currently off air

Does anyone know of any radio stations in the area (Hudson Valley, Albany, Colonie, Elmira, surrounding areas) that are currently off the air. If anyone knows any radio stations that are currently dark, kindly post which ones they are and where they are located. Thank you.

Elmira? Wrong end of the state there bud. As for Albany & vicinity:

560 WCKL Catskill (ownership transfer)
900 WUAM Saratoga Springs (lost tower site, app for move to Watervliet)
89.7 WSSK Saratoga Springs (technical problems)
98.9 W255AJ Albany (license surrendered 2006)
104.3 W282AD East Windham (technical problems)

Mildly Off Topic: was a little surprised to see WIPR on that FCC list. A blowtorch down there in San Juan (but, arent they all). I guess having an NPR station in Puerto Rico just didn't work out... who'd a thunk it? :) Looks to have sold, according to a raw translation of their website from Alta Vista, which is still slightly easier to decipher than Disney's posts.

Only WIPR-AM is listed as silent. To the best of my knowledge WIPR-FM is still operating.

From what I'm reading on:
http://www.tutv.puertorico.pr/radio940am/index.htm
it says they're building new studios for the AM and expected to be back on the air at the end of last November. The page says they have seven new programs ready for when the studios are complete - that suggests they do plan to return the AM station to the air. (but I don't have any knowledge that they actually made the November deadline)

My Spanish is about 1st-grade level but I don't see anything on their site I would read as indicating the AM station has been sold.

They have been running LOW POWER for years until this is granted..... (So they dont end up losing out)

Yes, but they did lose their tower site on West Avenue, and have just recently filed an application to move WUAM down closer to Albany. That's not to say they haven't tried to put it back on the air, but just haven't been successful for one reason or another. The low power rig they are running is in Stillwater at the Star 101.3 transmitter site and is most likely the old 50w nighttime tx into a longwire or some such setup.
