Stations for Sale

OK Miami posters...here's an interesting one. Can you think of 3 AM's and 3 FM's that somebody would be willing to sell to a major corporation?

And if you're wondering...yes, my company is looking. Thanks.

FM, none likely for sale, and any in dade or Broward would go for a bit over $100 million up to about $150 million, depending on revenues. Several of the larger companies have wanted to add staitons for years, to no avail.

AM, there are always stations. The 670-1550 combo is not doing well, I hear. The 1020 Haitian formated station licensed to Kendall is not off to a good start, and there are a couple of daytimers that kick around a bit.

The decent AMs, 560, 610, 710, 790, 940, 1080, 1140 and 1260 (good Dade signal) are not for sale. Ones like 1360, owned by salem, are not going anywhere. So the chances of getting a good one are reduced.

If you're looking in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale area, you aren't going to find any acquisition possibilities. However, there are opportunities to buy all over the place. We're currently looking at four different markets 100 and lower opportunities. Multiples are still high (15X or so), and you've got to be willing to accept a rate of return that is much less than the typical 30% per year. But, if your company is serious, there are opportunities out there. Expect to pay 15-20 million for a cluster in a mid 150 market with revenue (market) around 10 million.
