Stations Making A Turn around for the better

Not a lot for the better, just for ratings improvement.

Stations have been adding a lot of snap-rap-crap to their playlists, but I cannot blame them, its what's popular.

In my opinion last year about this time's music was way better. Add a month or two and you get the most underrated songs of the year (Christina Milian "Say I", Chris Brown "Gimme That", RHCP "Dani California", and Christina Aguilera's "ANOM" just to name a few).

Actually, Top 40 radio is blowing up in a lot of markets, especially the bigger ones. The format is performing well, and a number of Rhythmics Hot ACs are also moving more towards CHR/Pop.

One of the biggest success stories in the nwe trends is 96.7 Kiss FM out of Austin. Good for second place in the market 12+, and just 3 tenths of a share away from the market leader.
Alice 107.7 Little Rock also scored big and is good for third in the market
97.9 Kiss FM Jacksonville had their best trend yet while rival WAPE was also up (albeit ony a tenth of a share)

The heritage CHRs in the smaller markets are also staying strong, like Z-104 Madison and Star 104 Erie.

CHR and rhythmic are slowing colliding together. That's why the format is getting more and more acceptable to larger, more urban markets as time goes on.
