STATIONS ON YOUR CAR PRESETS

I thought I'd start a fun, non-argumentative topic for today. I recently purchased a new car and went from 12 presets on my old car, to 6 on my new car. I had to make a few cuts, and I agonized over the final list. To make it easy, how many presets do you have on your car and what do you have programmed....

Here are mine (in numerical order on my presets, because I have OCD):

1- 96.3
2- AmpRadio
3- 98.7
4- KIIS
5- Power 106
6- KROQ

How did you get a new car with only six presets? 18 seems to be the new minimum, and I've been in some recently (I review new cars)with 36.

1. 106.7
2. 98.7
3. 93.5
4. 95.5
5. 91.1
6. 88.9

On AM, I only enjoy listening to stations that only have static.

Depending on where in the Southland you are, that could be 70% of the AMs on the air.

Yes, my car radio has FM 1,2 and 3 - 18 FM presets which represents almost all of the FM stations where I live. I've got them all set, but there are a few I rarely push.

FM1:
88.1
91.5
92.7
93.1
95.5
97.1

FM2:
98.7
99.9
101.1
101.5
104.3
106.7

AM:
640
710
790
830
870
1150

Frankly, I actually had to run out to my car in the parking lot to verify these because I didn't trust my memory

On the FMs I have not listened very much in the last 6 months or so... On the AMs I listen to KFI 640 and KABC 790 the most, KLAA 830 mostly during baseball season, KTLK 1150 just to hear what they are saying

Having said all that, the vast majority of my in-car listening will not make any local programmers very happy... I listen to CDs I burned from my webstream listening to out of town over the air stations (mostly WXPK 107.1 The Peak) and Internet-only stations (mostly to Legato Cafe.net)

FM 1 has six presets, and there are another six on FM 2. My last car had a navigation screen so 12 stations showed on the presets. FM 2 is as follows:

7- JACK
8- KDAY
9- KLOS
10- KGGI
11- the Sound
12- 104.3

Off the wall presets:

88.1 KKJZ
91.5 KUSC
103.5 HD2 - KOST Classics
101.1 KRTH
101.1 HD2 - KRTH Classics
105.1 HD-2 KMZT Claasical

On AM the only one that counts is KNX

FM 1
1.- 93.5 KDAY
2.- 93.9 Exitos
3.- 97.1 Amp Radio
4.- 101.1 K-EARTH (Just added it after reading the K-Earth thread. I used to think it was all oldies.)
5.- 101.9 KSCA
6.- 107.1 Super Estrella

FM2 (When I'm in Mexicali)
1.- 90.7 Los 40 Principales
2.- 91.5 Exa FM
3.- 92.3 La Poderosa
4.- 94.5 Jose
5.- 96.1 KSIQ - Q96
6.- 96.9 Fuerza Latina Puro Trancazo

Wow Super, 18 presets and not one given up to the Sound. Of course the omission is intentional.

But fair is fair, they took your board away from you, so you took the preset away from them.

Karma baby!

Hahahaha thanks for noticing!! ;D

Yes, I cannot even bear to bother listening to them anymore. To paraphrase Michael Corleone "and you broke my heart..."

Heh heh in fairness to The Sound though, I hardly listen to KLOS or JACK either ... If I'm out at night, I might tune in to Jim Ladd.

AM: (1) KLAC, (2) KFI, (3) KSPN, (4) KABC, (5) KFWB, (6) KNX

I added 101.1 when Indie 103.1 flipped.
FM1 has several stations for my kids (KKJZ, KUSC, KTWV) who really like jazz.

Amazing that virtually all posters here seem to live in an oblivious cocoon, with only a minuscule number mentioning KFI or KNX or KPCC. No wonder so much of our nation and her people are absolutely clueless, since knowing what is going on in the world around us seems to be an unnecessary element of their lives. Just flip on the music and flip off the brain. It takes an informed electorate to keep our democracy going. I doubt that very many of these posters get up early in the morning to read a newspaper. And if they think they are getting news from most television sources, they are sadly confused. (I love music, listen to everything from KRTH to Amp to KROQ, as well as online from sources such as lite fm and You Tube, and I have a great CD collection, but knowledge comes well before escape.)

If car internet were available, then 101.1 would be a great choice.....101.1 in New York City that is. ;)
