Status of 94.3 FM In Selma Alabama...

Hello Everyone,

94.3 FM in Selma Alabama is almost completed. Mr Glenn King is now the owner and is getting it built. Once the station does sign on, here is the programming that it will carry.

Note: This info is taken from an E-Mail letter, I just received from Mr. Rob Moore, the previous owner of this translator.

He will indeed rebroadcast WMBV at 94.3 FM to meet a construction deadline. He hopes the FCC approves re-broadcasting an AM station on the FM dial. When/If that occurs, he will then begin to rebroadcast his Marion AM onto 94.3 FM.

Speaking of Mr. Moore, his new WRNF station is almost completed. Once he and Moody gets the tower up and running, this station will sign on. Hopefully this station will be on, by years end.

I'll keep you posted and let you know what happens.

Surely the WMBV-FM simulcast on 94.3 isn't a long-term solution--I'd never believe that anyone would have trouble receiving it from the 62kw of 91.9. ESPECIALLY if WRNF signs on as a Moody Bible station as well.

Two more channels to cure insomnia, but that's just my tastes.

When 94.3 was last on, they had various issues.  That station was always popping on and off, wasn't very clear and covered all of north Selma, with 41 watts of power.

Now that this translator will broadcast with 250 watts, I'm hoping this station will have a better sound quality and coverage area.

If I were Rev. King, I would've fished for a rebroadcast of WDJC from B-Ham, WYVC from Camden and/or Hallelujah 104.3 from Montgomery, since my Marion station has a CP to move to Selma.

WDJC can be heard, when the conditions are just right (I Believe It could be dragged in)
WYVC comes in pretty well for a Mono station (Wouldn't be any trouble to drag them in)
WHLW comes in pretty well (Wouldn't be any trouble to drag them in)

Just my two cents.

P.S. I hope Mr. King has success with this station, once he signs it on.
