Actually, she left WNBC last year after the station decided not to renew her contract.

Oh, that's right. Okay, she got four years of a seven-figure salary after her incident.

I wouldn't doubt that -- and, you don't have to move to Bismarck for two years, then to Terre Haute for while before getting your big break tending bar in Des Moines.

No country for old women

She didn't leave, she was let go!

Right, but not until four years after her f-bomb. Point is, NBC gave her north of four million dollars and let her continue anchoring newscasts after that. And you could argue that she should know better than any rookie what not to do on a news set with a microphone attached to her lapel.

I started in this business at WMUR-TV in Manchester, NH long before it became a respected outlet.

We had horror shows that there is no record of ( thank goodness )

Today in this DVR world if you screw up somebody can save it.

But it is obvious that nobody gave AJ a standby warning ( which falls on the female anchor who did have an IFB - he did not )

I would give the kid another chance.

Like Heebert Hoober :)

"Heebert Hoover" was a re-creation (a nice word for "fake").

Sue has been getting work playing TV reporters on New York based cop shows lately.

Sue was never as funny as Howard Stern doing Sue Simmons' "Jive at Five."

AJ mentioned on Today and Letterman that his co-anchor left her IFB earpiece in her car.

So this kid drops a double profanity....and gets interviewed on national television.

Amazing. Just when you thought Honey Boo Boo was as low as this medium could possibly go.

Yeah, seriously, 12 pages on this kid? I am guessing (actually) hoping that he will soon fade into obscurity, kinda like that homeless guy with the great voice who was famous for about 15 minutes last year.

This kid's 15 minutes are up!

...I made essentially the same point on this site on 6 January 2011 -- http://radiodiscussions.com/smf/index.php?topic=182722.msg1600262#msg1600262 -- and the event that finally wiped "Golden Voice" Ted Williams off the front pages of newspapers took place two days later (coincidentially, only five miles from my apartment at the time): the Tucson Massacre, in which Representative Gabrielle Giffords was shot and six other people, including Arizona state judge John Roll and former Phillies/Yankees/Mets manager and Cubs GM Dallas Green's 9-year-old granddaughter Christina, were killed. I found myself in front of the University of Arizona Medical Center the following Tuesday; in front of the place were all manner of correspondents and stringers for NBC, ABC, CBS, BBC, CBC, and France 24, and news actress bimbettes from Inside Edition, Extra and Fascist Noise Channel. I stood off to the side on the sidewalk when the yakker from Extra (I won't dignify her by calling her a reporter) was cutting a teaser about having "breaking Jared Loughner news" and I damned near puked in the gutter. Actual news does not "break" (or rarely even appear) on tabloid junk like Extra or Inside Edition, or on any syndicated program that appears at different times in different markets across the USA and Canada. And Williams himself went back to his well-deserved obscurity a few weeks later after reverting to his druggie ways and walking out of the rehab program that Dr. Phil had set him up with. I pray that it doesn't take another national tragedy to finally wipe AJ Clemente's name from the news bimbettes' lips (significantly, he made his infamy a week after another act of social terrorism, the Boston Marathon Bombing), but that anyone in Winnipeg, let alone New York or Hollywood, even knows of this twerp is infuriating...

His 15 minutes was up last Friday, and until the last three posts, this thread had been dead for 48 hours. You guys are literally the only people left in America still talking about him.

About who?

About whom?

If Bismark were going to hire him back, they'd have said so by now.

If somebody else were going to hire him, we'd have heard something by now.

Fortunately for A.J., the start of the summer season at the Delaware shore is just a few weeks away. A.J. can get back his job tending bar in Dewey Beach. Maybe they'll even name two new drinks for him.

If someone would hire Mike Barz who got in trouble for sexual harassment not once but TWICE, someone should hire this kid.
