I couldn't find the original post, but awhile back Steak Shapiro was crowing about how 680 ran on of thier 'gambling touts pay for play' weekend programs from the week before. He went on and on about how embarrassing it was to play audio from a week ago talking about the upcoming games.

I turn in this am to hear about the first round NFL playoffs....They are playing 'best of's'! Interviews with Bobby Hebert about how the NO game was going to shake out? I'm sorry, but this guy has some nerve to laugh at 680 for running a missplaced 'dollar a holler' show, but 790 can't find some b-listers to fill in on MLK day? How about running something off the bird?

It's almost 7 am, maybe they were just sleeping in. If not, this is truly embarrasing for 790.

Nice job of jumping the gun but they are live today. It is not uncommon for them to run previous bits or interviews in different timeslots so more listeners hear it. I am sure if you caught the intro to the piece they would have explained the relevance of playing that interview after the game.

Thier chief competitor was airing live local commentary from 6-7 am, while 790 ran interviews from last Friday. Steak derides 680 for running a 'week late' show earlier in the season, on weekend am when no one is listening, yet his station runs 'last weeks' interviews on the first hour after the playoffs, on a monday ( even if it is a 'holiday' ).

Listeners tuning in from 6-7 am hoping to hear discussion about the playoffs, or the result of the Pats game ( that ran over '24' s season pilot ) were treated to Bobby Heberts 'predictions' of the game that aired the night before.Lame.

Hey, if they want to sleep in another hour, no problem. Just don't go around talking trash about what the competitor is doing, when you're doing pretty much the same thing ::)

790 The Zone has been discussing the playoffs all day.

It's no big deal! They just started late today because of the holiday, so they ran some interviews from last week. So what!
790 still kicks 680's ass! It's not even close.

please dont make me defend 680 OR praise 790. :p

I'm simply pointing out this blowhard doesn;t really practice what he preaches.

And..............I'm gone!

I guess when you own the station, your own morning drive show can start whenever you want it too. Seriously though, a lot of us do not get MLK off. It wouldn't have sucked to have some live bodies in the first hour.

you got it. Or, if you want to get an extra hour nap, how 'bout running an extra hour of Fox Sports, since they do all the overnights?
But, running 48 minutes of the previous friday's interviews about the playoffs which occurred the night before is kinda sad.
BTW, I still like 790 more then 680. Mike Bell is the funniest man on Atlanta radio, hands down
