Is it just me or has this show gotten lazy. Little to no time paid to issues like Obama's visit to Iraq or Mccain grasping for straws. No but there was much talk about Stephanie's vacation in Ireland. Even sadder, half the show depended on remixes from listeners. I would rather get a root canal, than to sit through three hours of amatuer audio abortions, like I did today. Enough already, how about the issues?

I haven't listened to Stephanie in years (since she was on in the evenings on KABC), but I always felt the large amount of sound gimicks and below the belt jokes were just a cover for a shortage of substance. It's too bad though because she is the best the left has to offer.

When she is on, she can be very entertaining. But when she is off, she comes off sounding like a know-nothing high school sophomore with more words to speak than thoughts to say them with, with a cadre of yes-girls who don't know enough themselves to make themselves useful.

She is good, but it gets annoying when she picks on other shows that she "has more listeners than". Most of the shows actually have more listeners than her.

Okay, first things first: If you were even a regular listener to the show, you'd know that the "vacation" Steph was on was actually business more than pleasure (she was invited to be part of a media panel at the Embassy in London, and participated in a similar event subsequently in Dublin). So she had entertaining stories to share coming back from a foreign trip... doesn't everybody?

Secondly, I find it interesting that you feel compelled to go to a message board to express negative comments about a program you deem "lazy". (Although I will give you credit - unlike the husband of "Lurleen" you were able to post your thoughts in the message body field, instead of everything in the subject line... inside show reference.) Whatever the case, hopefully you should also find equal energy in turning the knob or preset on your radio if you're not satisfied with what you hear.

Keep in mind that Stephanie has a background as a professional comedian and - again, if you've ever paid regular attention to the show, you'd realize this - that she uses comedy to convey points about current events, and occasionally has serious comments about them. Usually this method makes it easier for people to learn important things about serious issues. Sorry if it's not a flat-out serious progressive show. If that's what you want, tune into Thom Hartmann.

And finally, Mr. or Miss "streetfudge"... As one of the contributors of said "amateur [sic] audio abortions" as you affectionaly put it, I personally take offense knowing the comment is attributed from somebody who probably has as much talent as I do in the nail on my left thumb! Then I think of the talent radio between us, and I'm not so offended anymore... 8)

Thanks for listening!

First off, the Stephanie Miller is a comedy show, and then progressive radio. Personally, I'd like a little more high-brow humor (rather than the "fart jokes"), but that's me. But the point is, it's not a news program. If you want breaking news on Obama's trip to the Middle East and Europe, stream the BBC.

Second, I wouldn't get too "het-up" about the substance for now; it's summer, and only seven of us are paying close attention to all things political (and to be honest, I'm ready for a vacation from it myself).

To ChannelFlipper: she doesn't have "yes-girls" any more. She often teases Producer Chris Ward as being "right-wing tooly".

Finally, to DJ: I'm hit-or-miss with the sound submitted by others. Some are great, some aren't. Sorta like the green-screen challenge.

Gotta run; may add more later.
