Stephen A. Smith: Smartest Man in Sports Radio

I know how everyone 'loves' Stephen A., and I thought I'd rub it in hard kindly remind you of his latest media coup, involving what will be one of the biggest sports stories of 2010: Calling the winner of the LeBron James sweepstakes (the Miami Heat) two weeks ago.

Even a dummy like Mike Florio had to 'bow down':

Somewhere, Steve Czaban quietly weeps into a hog slop pail. :D

Seeing as how LeBron James didn't even know where he was going two weeks ago, I find it interesting that I'm supposed to buy into the idea Smith knew something everyone else didn't.

Including James!

Can't we call this like it was? He heard that Miami was making a push for him, or that James was leaning that way, two weeks ago.

He went with it as gospel, and he got lucky.

Smith's feat is akin to picking the winner in the Kentucky Derby, not that he had some sort of great journalistic coup.

Well as much as I do not care for Steven Smith or his show I think he had some inside information on this one. There is considerable evidence that has come to light in the past few days that the idea of LeBron and the other two guys playing together had been planned for months. There was yet another online article on FoxSports.com this morning on this very issue.

Everyone knows that they were talking about getting together in Miami since the 2008 Olympics and I am sure Pat Riley and David Stern made sure this was going to happen and consulted with Labron and Wade confidant Steven A Smith during tha past 2+ years to make sure it happened,

Has anyone ever thought that LeBron and company may have gave Stephen A. an inside tip to make him look good. Stephen A. is an African American journalist who usually is supportive of atlhetes (unlike Jason Whitlock) and has good relations with them.

Has anyone thought that five minutes before LeBron gave his decision to us, he told Jim Gray he didn't make his final decision until that morning?

I have some great ocean-front property in Wyoming to sell you. ::)

I give him credit. He said he knew and I believe him. Chris Bosh slipped in an interview and said they were planning it for months and then changed to weeks. I bet Stephen A. found out found out around mid February after the all-star game in Dallas what they were planning.I hope those guys still gave it their all the rest of the season but I'm not so sure.

I also give Stephen A. a lot of credit. Although he is not a great broadcaster because of his diction, he is a great basketball insider. The
man has credibility with people in the game. His strength in radio/tv lies in his reports not his hosting skills. When used like John Clayton
or Buster Olney, he is very effective. If Fox ever gets the NBA, he will experience a re-birth on television. His content is that good.

Yes, SAS gets props for the Lebron call he is a great NBA insider made ESPN look dumb on top of the decision show.
Czabe is crying probably not because SAS got that right, because they replaced him with SAS still one of the worst moves EVER.
