Let's restate this. Why in the hell would you replace Steve Czaban.?

Because he's far too intelligent for Fox Premier Sports Radio. He was the only guy on that sorry excuse for a sports network worth listening to. Now that he's gone, it's no more FSR for me. Even the not-quite-dead-yet Sporting News Radio is better.

The IQ level of Premier is more suited for the likes of J.T. the Brick, Screamin' A. Hole and Jim Rome - arrogant and obnoxious jerks all. What's next? Give Jay Mariotti his own radio show? It is possible to be an entertaining, intelligent sports-talker without being a d**k. But not, apparently, on FSR.

Someone just posted in another thread that they signed JT to a new long term deal. I can't confirm but if that's true and they didn't resign Czabe. Unbelievable is all I can say.

Leebo,Now you are starting to get it. You can't confirm anything. Premiere doesn't consult with you when they sign Screamin A, or resigns J.T. or lets go of Czabe. You are clueless.

Czabe made a post on his blog about people not canceling their XM subscriptions, that they might need them later.

Czaban has to resurface, his too damn good not to! I am can't believe the crap that is on sports radio now days, FSR in the toilet, ESPN stinks and has no clue about real sports talk, SNR is near death.

And your solution is to bash hosts that continue to stay on the air and stand the test of time. You pray that other bums who continue to crash and burn get a second and third chance. You hate all three sports radio networks but continue to listen and post on this site. [EDIT]

[EDIT-inflammatory]

That probably just means if he winds up nationally syndicated again that an XM simulcast is still in the cards (unless it's Westwood One, because they don't sell to the sats), but the possibility of him winding up there exclusively is good too.

Yep, Stephen A. had a "soft opening" this morning. And FSR had the gall to still run the usual Steve Czaban "Boogie Wonderland" intro at the top of every hour, while Stephen A. introduced himself several times as "filling in for Steve Czaban." I guess this facade will continue until January 4th, when the Stepen A. show officially rolls out.

What the heck?! Why bother pretending that the Czaban show is still alive and well?

If they wanted to replace Czaben, Replace him with Ben Maller.

Ben Maller? Never did a morning show and while a decent host, not good enough to ever stick - even on one of the local LA sports stations - of which there are at least 4. Sort of like Dave Smith and Joe McDonnell. Lots of gigs, but not enough success to warrant a full-time gig.

Stephen A. is being picked up by several gospel stations in the Sunbelt for morning drive so his presence
does serve a purpose for Fox. It's not like the morning show is really making any inroads against Mike and
Mike.

A sports show on gospel radio....

And Stephen A. is on the air. FSR is now near completely unrecognizable from one year ago.

Jan 2009
Steve Czaban
Craig Sheamon & James Washington
Chris Myers & Sean Farnham
Andrew Siciliano
J.T. The Brick
Ben Maller

Jan 2010
Stephen A. Smith
Dan Patrick
Chris Myers & Steve Hartman
Petros Papadakis & Matt "Money" Smith
Tony Bruno
J.T. The Brick

Please bring Steve Czaban back!!!!

Sometimes you get the feeling someone at Premiere is trying to bury FSR! Smith's show really does not fit well with the other shows. Miss ya Czab!
