Stephen Strasburg Is A Big Deal

TBS is ditching this Sunday's interleague matchup between the Boston Red Sox and Philadelphia Phillies, in favor of the Washington Nationals at the Cleveland Indians. All thanks to one guy - the Nationals' probable starting pitcher, Stephen Strasburg, who, in his major league debut on Tuesday night, only managed to rack up fourteen strikeouts and allow zero walks in seven innings.

It will be Strasburg's second-ever major league start, but the first road game of his major league career.

(And after breaking in against the Pirates, I bet Stevie is licking his chops thinking about facing the Indians.)

He'll eventually take his lumps like any other rookie, but I think he's the real deal. If he keeps this up and stays healthy, either Theo Epstein or the Steinbrenner boys will come calling with their checkbooks in hand in 6 years. He's not enough to save that sorry Nationals franchise.

Washington - First in war, first in peace, and last in the National League East. ;D
