Stepped Sine Wave Questions

Is it ok to run stuff other than PC's on a Stepped Sine Wave UPS system. Im looking at running some AV equipment like, some studio monitor audio amps,a audio mixing board, audio/video processing gear, and a 37" LCD monitor on a pair of 2000VA UPS with stepped sine output. I know that some AC motors and transformers dont take well to this. Cost prohibits me from getting pure Sine output models. Was looking for some opinions on this.
