Stereo Gatesway 80 - Finally connected!

Well, last night I took some courage and connected the console.
I've been riding a few tests with a cart machine wired to the console with crocodiles ((?)sorry, I don't know the word) so that I can jump the several equipement inputs.
The line level inputs seems to be fine, the pots some of them are a bit noisy near the cue switch. The Mic inputs weren't tested because I don't have a mic at home but as far as I noticed I can't ear the relays acting. There were a few custom made changes, wich includes relays added.

Issues:

When I switch an audio feeded channel to Audition I can ear it on the Audition output pins with headphones but the VU meter doesn't move. I've switched the MON SEL lever to AUD but still the VU meters keep frozen. The CUE speaker was removed. This is the first issue detected.
Now I call for your help... What might be problem?

Pedro

The meters are for the Program outputs only. Audition is like Cue. It's for auditioning (listening) to the sources without putting them on the air.

Seems that I was error induced... The manual states that it offers -26dbm output level when the VU meter shows "0" VU. Perhaps just a PGM output reference, no?

On a lighter note...those are "alligator Clips" Cheers....

Actually there are crocodile clips with a broader nose, intended for clipping onto lugs or the blades in punch blocks. The alligator ones have the familiar pointed ends for narrow spaces and clipping onto wires. Many people simply call them all alligators though.
