Stereo Tool 7.10 Release

I have it running on the WURD web stream. It sounds just incredible - a major improvement over 7.03. Thanks Hans!

I'm finding it to be in the same league as the Omnia 9. The cleanliness borders on unbelievable--and the delay is less.

BobOnTheJob:
Seriously? It truly is that good? I abandoned my trial of ST because I couldn't get it adjusted properly. I'll look at it again!

LA_GUY:
I like the stream. What is your set-up, if you're allowed to tell?

Thanks!

I'm not a processing freak as my knowledge doesn't allow. Play'n with Stereotool as a Winamp plugin here at the studio, Genelecs monitors.
There's one song that annoyed me while testing all the presets... Manic Monday - BAngles. The kick drum leaked and sucked the overall bands. Solution?...

All in all it's nice to play with and learn.

LA_GUY: How's the news feed processed?... It sounds sXXXy... the rest sounds good despite the mono sound :)...

Im no longer at the station. Using DT100 on my ears this bite sounds not suffering the pumping i've heard b4. But i can see the spikes that weren't seen at the station.
I've listened to this track with all the new presets, and I don't hear pumping. Now since you say you didn't see spikes at the station, and I do see them with any preset I try, could you please check the original recording?

Seriuosly...I have an Omnia 9 that I'm delighted with. Punching the 9 and ST up on the car radio, it sounds like two major market competitors...even though ST is on a 1 watt exciter running into a couple inches of wire for an antenna. When you download it, my preset will be listed under FM US - USER PRESETS as Bob Hawkins - Loud 'n Clear FM (US, Stereo). Assuming you have a Marian Trace Aplha or other DC Coupled sound card, select that preset, hook it to an exciter and get ready to be amazed. If that sounds good to you, there are many more presets and you can create your own as well.

Haven't demoed it on current music, sounds phenomenal on classic hits. As good, if not better dry voice characteristics than any digital box I have laid hands on. (aggressive processing)

Quite a feat!

Thanks for that. I'm definitely going to give ST a second look!

Time to get your source material from TM Studios then. :)

Some of the TM stuff was crappy.in particular remixed mid 60's material, that famous digitally remastered crap. i found several tracks not useable. But in defense of TM most of the library is ok.BUT what really cooks is this ST 7.10 release.Kudos to Hans for some amazing software. More goodies on the way.

I haven't done enough A/B comparison between de-clipper off & de-clipper on, but even on old material that has no sign of square waves, there's something in ST that is increasing the apparent dynamic range without sacrificing loudness/cleanliness...that's holy grail stuff in this boy's opinion.
