Stereomaxx with fault, need schematics

Hi all,

I have a stereomaxx for repair, producing a distorted sound. It's an MYB2 without widthlimiter and monodetector adjuster on the top.
I'm looking for the schematics for this unit.

Could anyone help me?

I thought the MYB2 was the one with the pots adjustment on top, as mine are. I guess the same model designation is used for both versions. While it seemed to be a fad on FM I loved using it on my webstreams. In fact, I have two of them for my own personal use.

Anyways, go to Modulation Sciences to get a password to download the manual:

http://www.modsci.com/support/index.asp

I know I have an old paper copy of the manual somewhere with the schematics in it, but I'll have to do ripping through boxes I hadn't been in for almost two years. If it's not in the PDF let me know and I'll try to find my manual.

Yep,

Yours is MYB2, but with widthlimiter and monothresshold access in the toplit. Mine is also MYB2 but without that access.
I assume the PCB versions differ, but the difference is not that big.
The manual provides ( on purpose, probably ) distorted schematics, these are unreadable.

Thanks for replying Bill, If you could make a scan i would be thankful. If i can be at any service let me know.

I would never dream of putting one of these on an FM signal in 2008...much less the motions of repairing one.

To each his own, good luck.

I don't want it for any of my FM's. We have much better digital processing for those. It will find a nice use in another service altogether. But, it is VERY well suited for the application that I have in mind.

I remember when these came out (in fact, the copy of the manual was given to me at an SBE chapter meeting when I was involved with the NYC chapter). A local station had one and I noticed some of the oddities such as a little extra multipath and a little echo, but when adjusted well it can be used to add a little extra enhancement.

I was using in on my webstream and in fact i was picking these up for peanuts when stations were removing them. Both my main and backup audio chains for my stream have their own Stereomaxx. I find the box unique and I plan on keeping them until they smoke themselves to the ground!

@sqeirk

We all have our flavors. I like the stereo effect, although it's far from puristic, but so is intensive clipping/compressing/limiting...
