Go to Sirius.com. They have banners proclaiming they are now streaming (as well as "the tapes are here").

There is a private serever up an running that is streaming the show LIVE every weekday mornings an repeats on weekends. If you want the link to listen, shoot me an email "[email protected]"
To download Howard Stern an all content, there is a news group called "alt.binaries.howard-stern"
They post the show 30 mins after the show is over, variable bitrates an stereo.

Actually that and 100 other channels are worth 13 bucks a month.
But your argument sounds disingenuous. If Stern was on 6 days a week you'd still attack the guy.
Personally I've never listened to 5 hours of that show any given morning but with the replay I hear a lot more of Stern now in the evening and on the weekend without a live show on Friday. Its the icing on the cake for me.

This is such a ridiculous argument because you don't have Sirius and don't know whats really going on.
To clarify, Stern mentioned that he had a familial obligation for one of his daughters on Thurs 6-22.. Don't bash the guy for having to attend a family event.
When he was on terrestrial radio the show was from 6-10 (most days went til 10:30) He had 15 minutes of commercials an hour... so that means he was on the air for 3+ hours daily for 5 days. We'll just say 18 hours a week to be conservative.
On Sirius... most shows go til 11:30am with MINIMAL commerical interruption. Maybe 5 minutes an hour? Some shows have even gone to noon. Thats 5 hours of show a day which means on a 4 day week, he puts in 20 hours. Two weeks ago, he did a Thursday morning show and then a 4 hour roast at night the same day! He doesn't always take Fridays off and when he does, "The Friday Show" recaps everything and plays old clips from his WNBC, DC 101, and K-Rock days. He's packing much more show into a shorter work week and I don't feel ripped off at all. With the exception of wanting to know local weather and traffic information, my Sirius radio is on all the time.

I have both XM and Sirius,and Stern on his worst day blows the socks off those imitators O&A... how many subs do you think they brought into XM? They were so hot, they had to put them on premium pay option--ooops and no one paid, so they went to regular subscription on XM.. you can have Dopey & Antwony....LOL

Dan Patrick just came off a long vacation (first day after the NBA finals ended). Jim Rome also is on vacation again, and admitted he gets 30 days of vacation.
Long vacations during the summertime in talk radio is not uncommon.

yeah, Howard is a genius but he is also the BIGGEST spin doctor in radio history. If you remember, in XM raising their rate they made O and A free in addition to the stream that used to cost an additional $4.95. They had to raise the overhead!
Howard's show has DRAMATICALLY improved, but is it really Howard's work ethic or the humor of the peripheral players like Sal, Richard, and Artie? They weren't behind the 4 day work week, that's for sure. Let's get real too, that Friday show stinks on ice. O and A's third rate Howard days on WNEW are 360 degrees different from the quality of the show since their return and well they now do 2 shows, 5 days a week and both are funny, admittedly the XM show moreso.
Don't believe the hype, Howard's spinning his wheels, at least he has good people working for him. O and A are gonna be around a while.
