Stern Drops To 32nd (!) On Talkers' Latest "Heavy Hundred" List

The new Talkers "Heavy Hundred" list is out. And the truth is, Howard Stern doesn't have as much weight as he used to. On the latest list, he came in 32nd place, sandwiched between Jim Rome and Michael Smerconish, and trailing rivals Mancow and Don Imus. Anyone think deep inside, Stern wants back on terrestrial radio?

Here's the list:
http://talkers.com/online/?p=3774

As expected, Rush, Beck, Hannity and other assorted right-wingers make up most of the Top 10.

I haven't heard of half the top 20! Yeah, this list from Talkers Magazine is really going to push Stern over the edge.

I couldn't find the Radio Chick on the list, did anybody see where she ranks?

If I had to guess, there is a correlation between how much advertising you do in Talkers magazine, and where you place on the list. ::)

Is Mancow still on the air??

Not at the moment; granted, this list was based on the hosts' influence and performance in the year 2009. Clearly, that "waterboarding" stunt catapulted Mancow into the Top 20.

I have to say that I agree with most of their choices. Seems reasonable. There's a few talkers in the top 20 that I haven't even heard of though.

But Boomer & Carton above Mike&Mike and Mike Francesa? That's crazy right? Just doesn't make sense.

While Howard Stern has fallen the big losers really are Opie & Anhony. From #15 in 2007 to #65. They're behind the Monsters and Bubba TLS and are fading away on satellite radio. Outside a few popular youtube clips they have no buzz going for them at all going.

WHERE is Colin Cowherd??? Good Gad! :D I guess Colin's ego is too big to be part of it all

I believe he was at the tail end of the "Heavy Hundred," but another host took a call from President Obama and resulting in bumping Cowherd off. ;D (If you're not sure what I'm referring to, just Google "Drew Brees", "Obama" and "Colin Cowherd.")

I think that's why they're now resorting to a "WOW" ribbon campaign:

Haha. According to that, they are "The most popular show in the history of Satellite Radio, Opie & Anthony, and of course L'il Jimmy Norton" yet they only have 1, 688 supporters.

As for this ridiculous list. That hack Manclown, who doesn't even deserve to be in the top 100, ranks in the top 15? Now I'm no Stern supporter, but really....Stern has a much larger reach, following and influence than Manclown. This goes to show Talkers Magazine is a joke. They're just another radio publication swayed by the almight $$$$. I wonder who Manclown had to swallow to get on this list.

Mancow had the radio stunt of 2009(waterboarding). If the list is serious he won't be in the top 100 next time since he lost his Chicago affiliate.

Someone find out if Mancow will be participating in the next Talkers New Media Seminar this year. Should that happen, and Mancow doesn't get a new Chicago station this year, this proves the list has more to do with influence ($$$) than influence.
