STERN ON COVER OF NY POST

Howard is saying this morning it is untrue, nothing has been discussed with him from Sirius. He says this will also help the show with added front page promotion. They are discussing the bigger picture of the hearings in Washington talking about the federal government trying to regulate satellite and cable.

If the story were true it would also affect other shows that run uncensored, as the uncut comedy channel, Lynn Samuels, Alex Bennett, Bubba, etc. where the hosts and callers use "foul" language.

Ilove this...Speak the truth about Stern and get deleted.

King of all media? 15 days on satellite and STILL the same complaining, whining

and lame show. We lost Stern when Jackie the jokeman left. The feds aren't

after Howard, they were discussing decency standards long before Stern

announced his departure for Sirius. I think Howard showed the depth of his

faith in Sirius when he sold off his stock in the company that he called his

salvation. Dump buttons, whining and a show as cutting edge as "The View"

There isn't a better show on Radio. If there is, I've yet to find it. Stern is KING.

Re: Stern Found Out The Grass Isn't Greener On The Other Side

Poor Howie, after all of his complaining about terrestrial radio owners and the FCC, only to discover that his new boss (Sirius) also has rules and regulations must be a real put-down for the “King of all Egos.”

Enjoy your $100 million dollar a year salary Howard and quit your complaining. You’ve burned your bridges if you ever dreamed of getting back on terrestrial radio. No major corporation, especially the giants Clear Channel and Infinity, would ever hire you back after you spent a year being so unprofessional by putting them down while promoting Sirius.

Well now you found out, the hard way, that Sirius also has its corporate rules and politics to follow.

Life’s a bitch isn’t it?

This has become a mantra. It's been five years already and the show has gotten much better.

They just recently started discussing satellite and other media besides regular broadcasting. Read the news. Go to C-Span.org

Well, duh, they are a corporation, but this story about 'decency rules' at Sirius is false.

Oooh, clever. Maybe Howard should put you on his staff.

We lost Howard after his divorce...his edge evaporated after that IMO

Please, as much as I dislike Howard, you do no service to the issue when you apout total idiocy like that. I went straight to yahoo finance and found Howard's name NOWHERE in the Insider and Rule 144 transaction list. I'll search WSJ, but until then, if you don't have the juice to back it up...

Re: More from the fleas...

To do a semi-backtrack...unbeknownst the actual number of shares, I am going to UESS with rougn numbers: At approx. 6.30 a share and the reported 220 mil. value of shares, Stern should be listed as a holder of APPROX. 34.9 mil shares but neither his ownership listing nor his "bonus" is listed under transaction or list of top owners on WSJ and Yahoo Finance. I am not sure if SIRIUS can wait until the end of Q1 to announce the share transfer in regards to a bonus issue. Either way, as of 1/24 he is not listed. If 34 Mil is correct, he will be the #2 holder of SIRIUS stock in the company according to the sites listed above.

Possibly the dimensions of the deal have not totally been disclosed, i.e. when this transfer is supposed to take place, vis a vis churn, etc., But AFAIK, no sale by Stern or his agent has taken place, and no stories have appeared about it except for a misleading headline in FMQB.

He needs to move over seas.... If he doesnt like the rules in this country, while making 500 million bucks... then he is an arrogant ******bag.

Boo hoo Howard, cry me a river. I admit, I used to love Stern. I looked forward to getting in the car every morning to drive to work in the morning to hear him..... but, this past year.. he has been annoying as hell... and I can honestly give a damn about him now. His whole image now is about ME, ME, ME.... and how everybody is out to screw him over. There are a lot more important things happening in the world today, then Howard Stern being able to talk about lesbians.

My thougths exactly. Media made it sound like he was receiving it at EOY. If it isn't received in pieces, I would expect it to be some type of bonus issue that will be disclosed in the first quarter reports. They can't hold onot it forever, especially with the size of the deal.

Re: Non-Story?

Howard has not complained at all about any rules of Sirius. He only talked about the newspaper story appearing to be untrue. He said he runs the show on a 6 second delay to self-sensor any potential slanderous statements someone might make. He also wanted to limit use of "foul" language among the staff to when it fits a conversation, not just for "shock" value.

If you listen to Sirius the f and s words among others are used regularly on a number of Sirius channels. There is no sign of Sirius imposing speech restrictions. Why would you think he'd even try to return to terestrial radio? After all, things there are going so well with David Lee Roth, assuming you also believe the NY tabloid newspaper articles about him...
