Anybody know of any "clandestine" sites that will offer same-day podcasts of Howard's show for those of us that dont want Sirius?

Do you think it will pop up on WinMX or Limewire?

And before you anti-piracy guys start to post-up, let's face it -- it's inevitable, so let's discuss.

People sell audio CDs of Opie and Anthony on Ebay, so anything is possible. It just might not be available immediatly. XM also has a "store" which you can purchase individual shows and download them

It depends on how you define "immediately," and how edited you want the show to be.

I set up my own little private podcast on my LAN for Derek and Romaine from OutQ. I just record the output of my radio for four hours each weeknight starting at 6 directly into an MP3, and every night at 10:05 my computer adds that file to an RSS feed. My podcatcher then "downloads" that file into iTunes and onto my iPod.

If you don't mind a completely unedited broadcast (commercials and all) it's likely that an illegal Stern podcast would be available minutes after he goes off the air every day.

However, the original poster has it all wrong. If you want to listen to Stern, or anything on SIRIUS, pay for it. And let them know why you are subscribed to them. It's the best way to make sure what you want to hear sticks around.

Nah, I'll get it for free. Like I have been for the last 15 years. The only way Howard is getting any money from me is if he writes a book again.

Thanks for the advice, I'm sure there will be an "underground" RSS as soon as he hits Sirius. Oh, and I don't mind the commercials, I understand that's part of the show. I would mind advertising if I had to pay for it.

Most all of the national syndicated shows (Stern, LoveLine, Hannity, etc) are available on the news groups now on a daily basis.

You can get the show from newsgroup: alt.fan.howard-stern minus the commercials now. It's my guess you'll get the Sirius Shows the same way. Also I've heard both live and pre-recorded streams of Howard on Shoutcast.com and P2P Streamer. BUT...You didn't hear that from me! I've had Sirius since last November and can't wait til January 9th!

It's just as easy, If not easier, to record shows from sirius
vs. FM broadcast... alt.f.h-s has had daily shows there for
a LONG time. Setting up a torrent of daily "podcasts" would
be simple

Why not pay the 13$ a month and get the great programming of Sirius? The service is well worth the small fee. It bothers me that you would only listen to Stern for free. If you have been listening for 15 years wouldnt you classify yourself as a Stern fan. You will be missing out on the 3 channels of programming that Stern will have on Sirius. Yes there will be more than likely be downloads of the days show but you will be missing out on a ton of other conent on the Stern channels. Plus it is still up in the air if Howards show will be internet fed over Sirius. 13 bucks isnt much to pay for the huge selection of content on satellite radio.
