does anyone know if there is a site on the net where I can listen to Howard stern live without needing a Sirius radio? I am asking as I am in Canada and it cannot be picked up as sirius radio in Canada does not get the channel? I heard that in the next few mos..howard will be on in Canada.

I am sure there is somewhere I can hear the show.

I don't know if they have continued to do this now that he's on sirius, but back in the old days (a month ago) there were people doing relay streams online, usually as a peercast since the urls are supposed to be encrypted. Try a search engine for peercast and see what you get, or maybe "stern relay" with the quotes to narrow down the hits.

Dude...just drive down to buffalo and buy a (American)sirius unit,then set it up. Thats the best thing I can suggest

Try a Shoutcast search for "howard" and just look over the dozen or so results for a station. There's usually at least one station feeding it in the morning. You can bookmark it within Winamp if you find it to be a reliable one.

To activate it I think you need a valid US address and a credit card that goes to a US address.

Our buds at Sirius are likely to take a very dim view of such live streaming, but I've heard on other boards there's been a bit torrent of many of the terrestrial shows. Whoa, piracy.

The Stern show is not yet streamed online, Howard commented on this the other day.....he said they are going to do it, there is a holdup right now, something about Sirius wanting to stream only thru sirius.com , and Howard wants it streamed thru Howard Stern dot com as well.....he wasn't sure why there would be a problem streaming it on both websites.

On today's show, he had a caller from Canada who is trying to lobby the government to allow Howard on the air. He stated something to the effect that there are "grey market" subscriber who use an American credit card to obtain content, and that 80,000 Canadians have done this.

There is a petition to request Howard on the air; here is the URL:

Here is another link that indicates Sirius Canada is going after grey market subscribers. The caller from Canada stated that he saw nothing they could do about those scribers, however. Here is the URL:

You can listen to Howrd Stern Live an taped via "shoutcast.com" Just search for Howard Stern an you'll get a few streams that are streaming'em. I listen to Howard via Winamp here: http://66.252.20.196:8880
