Stern Sirius about silencing Web Stream

Boston Herald:

http://business.bostonherald.com/businessNews/view.bg?articleid=122152

"The King of All Media is fighting some feisty subjects who don’t want to pay to hear the popular shock jock. Sirius and Stern’s production company, One Twelve Inc., fired off a cease-and-desist letter to at least one Web site that was rebroadcasting the radio host’s show — billed the “Show” — as an audio stream. But a Boston area man who says he is the administrator of www.hearhoward.org said he didn’t consider streaming Stern over the Internet theft."

This guy needs to stop being an a-hole about his show streaming on sirius. here's what I can gather( this is all from howard, so its only one side if the story)
He told his listeners that he wants to stream on sirius.com AND Howardstern.com. He states sirius wants it on Sirius.com only. My questions are, What is he gaining by this? Can't he just post a link on his web site to the streaming page of sirius.com? seems to make sense to me. I really think is's messed up that people pay $12.95 amonth to hear him and they can't even hear it on their computers.

Yeah, Howard needs to get the streaming thing settled. If you work in an office building away from a window or near the basement then you can't get reception through the indoor antenna. Howard NEEDS to have streaming available!

Archives of Howard Stern's show continue uninterrupted via both the BitTorrent peer-to-peer network and Usenet newsgroups. Although there is a slight possibility the former could eventually be stopped if the lawyers try to trace IP addresses, the latter can never be stopped or controlled.

It's amusing that one of the Internet's oldest services, newsgroups, are once again seeing huge growth, if only because content distribution there is totally unenforceable, particularly through the third party newsgroup provider services which keep no records of the content they distribute.

My guess is to prevent non subscribers from using more than the 3 days free that are allowed...If someone goes through HS.com (didn't feel like typing the name all out..LOL), as you suggested, there would be no login page...
