It must be a done deal as Entercom has a job posting for a part-time morning show producer.

Part-time Morning Show Producer
KISW

99.9 The Rock of Seattle is currently seeking a Part-Time Morning Show Producer. We need an experienced producer. Must be knowledgeable about news, pop culture, entertainment and be able to work in a team atmosphere. Must be comfortable giving direction and work well under pressure.

Contact Information:
Send cover letter and resume to:
Dave Richards
1100 Olive Way
Suite 1650
Seattle, WA 98101
No calls please. Entercom Seattle is an equal opportunity employer.
A completed Entercom application must be submitted with your resume to be considered for this position. The application can be found below.

The other morning, as a follow-up to his on-air confirmation that David Lee Roth would take over his slots in NY and some other East Coast markets, and that Adam Corolla would take 4 West Coast stations, Stern had Adam call in and they spent about 20 minutes talking about it together, as well as other things Adam's up to such as his new late night tv talk show, his TLC home improvement show, his leaving Loveline, etc. Adam said he hasn't "signed" anything "yet" but that it's more or less been settled that he is going to take 4 west coast slots when Howard goes. They said LA, San Diego "and 2 more". I don't think KISW is going to be one of them (seeing they are now looking for a morning show producer I guess would be confirmation of that thought...?)

Unless the part-time morning show producer position is code for board op.

Or....

J from the R&M show is leaving for New Orleans. Hmm...wouldn't that be great if they took Stern's slot on KISW?

KISW will juke it out until they find someone who can A.) Get alomg with Dave Richards and B.) Kiss up while getting a chintzy paycheck and C.) Do this while getting a stooge part-timer flipping through a Rolodex.

The ad tells you that Entercom ain't serious. KISW doesn't have the clout to attract a first rate morning show. Whether that's Richards' determination (which may tell alot) or Entercom's, this station will lose Stern and not really care about the consequences.

I'm not Bob Rivers' agent but I'll tell you, almost blindly, what I'd do and that's grab John Ballard out of DC-101 and bring him home. It can't hurt. He's local and this town loves local..to a fault at times..

If you're gonna be a jukebox and Stern is blowing up your AM-Drive universe at least get familiar. Put Ballard between the tunes.

Since the deal would be with Infinity, I don't forsee Entercom's KISW being one of those four. Stern said "San Francisco" on air as another city the other day, though that might've been a slip of the tongue (meaning San Diego) versus a confirmed third city. KUFO-FM/Portland, KHWD/Sacramento, and KZON/Phoenix are all possibilities, along with San Francisco, though KHWD is in need of at the very least a rebranding, and might possibly go JACK-FM with the recent elimination of Variety Hits Bob FM from the Sacramento market.

But any way you slice it, I don't forsee Adam Carolla ending up in Seattle.<P ID="signature">______________
