Well at least that station is owned by a reputable person, unlike 990 The WALE.

I don't think WALE has ever been owned by anybody with Money. That's the problem. WALE is the one station I would like to see bought by one of the big media corporations so that they could take some of their money and fix it. My prediction though is that one day the station will go away forever and 990 in Providence will just be a thing of the past. They can't stay on life support forever.

Sky:

I would LOVE for you to be right on this...BUT...I'm not so sure. All through the Battaglia ownership, and now with these jokers, the ONE thing that 990 has managed to do is show the survival instincts of a cockroach.

In case nobody else here has noticed...the number of hours of Spanish programming per week on 990 has been slowly on the increase, and...at some point....could beccome more than just "life-support".

Unless Mother Nature intervenes, and takes out one or two of those infamous "leaning towers of burrillville"......we may be stuck with this giant cockroach indefinitely. :(

OOOHHH Yey!!! Another spanish station! Here is to hoping that it gets struck by lightning and dies forever!

Hey everybody.. Good News. Big Windstorm coming tonight and lasting into tomorrow. (Insert your own WALE joke here) Preferably about the towers blowing over.

No, If communication satalites get blown out,as one swcenerio has been tossed out there..WALE and WBLQ will be the only stations broadcasting locally without satalite service.Maybe we will get local jocks back on the air after 12/21/12 ;D

oops this is on the wrong thread.

That would be a sad day. WALE would be speaking to me in Spanish (which I don't understand). and WBLQ won't reach me at my location. But I was only talking about a wind storm. A hurricane can't even effect satellites since they are 23,000 miles up in the sky. You must be thinking of a Meteor storm.

Any one with enough money to resusitate WALE would probably know it was not a good deal...

True enough. BUT...even in 2009, radio station licenses are a limited commodity, and as such, even a dog of a facility like 990 could wind up being attractive to somebody.
