Steve Bryant On WGMD

Anyone listen to his show? He has a regular weekly program Sunday afternoons on WGMD, but this week, he's filling in for Jared Morris on the midday show, and doing a commendable job. Best known as a personality on QVC, Steve's worked on hundreds of hilarious song parodies, some of which can be heard on Don Geronimo's show in Sacramento. (Incidentally, you may recall Don Geronimo once hosted his own show on WGMD while he was a resident of Ocean City; this was after he left the old "Don & Mike Show" and could not entertain offers from stations in markets where CBS owns competing stations.)

Steve did his final show on WGMD this weekend. He's teasing a major announcement tomorrow on his Facebook page as to where his next radio home will be - and he's hinted that he's turned down gigs in markets like Philadelphia to do it... this must be a big deal!

The big announcement: Steve will be a regular part of the Don Geronimo Show on KHTK in Sacramento. He's been sending Don song parodies for airplay on the show for years, and is personally a big fan of Steve's handicraft.

Awesome news!

Steve is a great guy and I'm glad he's hooking up with Don out west.
I took over for Jared, who took over for Don, in Sept. '09 at WGMD, and got let go in Feb. '11. WGMD is a great station and my gig was an amazing one. I'm still friends with some of their people and I wish everybody there only the best.

I worked for WGMD 1997-1998. Is the old man owner still there and/or still alive?
