Steve Goddard back on the Phoenix airwaves

Glad to hear he's back on the air. However Nurse Jeff and I wuz hopin' he'd put something together with Mother Hubbard. He'd be a natural for KSLX and could do VTs for Lumberyard 14~Forty/93~Three HD~Two/92~Seven.

Mother Hubbard is probably waiting for her new K-Slacks PD to come on board (in April--just a few days away, actually), and then we'll probably see how 100.7 shakes out with the new guy's stamp on things. And if the Stevemeister is part of that stamp.

Related to K-Slacks: did anyone else know that former PD Jim Owen left the Londen Center in December? I don't think All Access even had the story until mid-Feb. Is this Mother Hubbard putting HER new stamp on the operation?

Back to the Stevemeister: I'll go with your synopsis, Doc! Does that mean no more limited stagers from him on the Lumberyard? And what of his two syndicated weekend shows that 1440/93.3 HD2/92.7 have been carrying?

And off on a different tangent again: what's the deal with the "morning slot" on KOAI 95.1/94.9...7 AM to 1 PM? And the studio site for KOAI? That looks like a familiar address. Isn't it where KOOL hung out prior to the move the the KOY Building?

When you VT, then the shift can be any length. Our hunch is it takes the Stevemeister about three hours a day to knock out the next day's six hour show. The Oasis has three jocks: Stevemeister, Gina, and Duh-Ly-la. As far as his work for Mother Hubbard, they clear his show and he does liners for Lumberyard 14~Forty, 93~Three HD Too, and 92~Seven. Maybe that's part of the deal WestStar cut with Mom to clear the show? Not sure...maybe TNBO knows (six- fake studio audience: clap, clap, clap, etc)

Yesterday (Fri 04/01) I tuned in to KOAI mid-to-late morning for :20-:30 min. and did not hear any voicetracks from the Stevemeister. (Or a live voice, for that matter.) Today (Sat 04/02) midday, I did hear several obvious VTs from him. And the quality of the voice on the tracks was, just as a few days ago, marginal at best. There is some sort of distortion on them. Does he do them at home and email (or equivalent) them to the station? Along with Dr Akbar, I too wish he'd be able to hook up full time with Mother Hubbard.

Speaking of the K-Slacks/KUPD/KDKB/KAZG bunch...I did still hear Goddard's Gold this morning on the Lumberyard freqs. For part of the late morning today, it was as if he was competing with himself on the air.

Isn't that the Stevemeister's voice on KOOL HD~Too liners? Seems he's got a lock on the Seventies!
