Steve Harvey crosses the hall.....

To Majic 104.9! Just read that Tony Scott and the crew will move to afternoons replacing BT. So where does this leave 100.3? Personally, I never did think Steve was a good fit for 100.3's "crunk" hip hop format.

Majic is a better fit. I've never liked "young" urbans putting on his show. It doesn't fit. Will The Beat go after something like Big Boy new synidicated show?

I forgot about that. After all, he is on Power 99 in Philly, which is Clear Channel owned.

Big Boy is a possibility.

KATZ-FM is also pulling a lot of the "street" records off the air and attempting to be more "mass appeal" under Interim PD Taylor J (also MD at sister CHR KSLZ). IMO, that's a great decision. As I've heard, KATZ-FM has billing issues, so the "mass appeal" approach should help there.

BUT, it also would not surprise me one bit to see The Beat blown up in favor of KATZ-AM's Gospel format, either as an A/F simulcast or perhaps they'll broker the 1600 signal.

Pulling the street records off the air is a great decision? I guess they will now sound like any other cookie-cutter urban. The "Street records" is what makes 100.3 sound so good. You could hear music on that station that you couldn't hear anywhere else. Oh well, I guess I will now look for my next favorite station.
