Steve Harvey in Florida

WMIB (103.5)/Miami and WBTP (the Beat)/Tampa are adding Premiere's syndicated Steve Harvey Morning Show this week :)

CC owned 95-7 The Beat has replaced local morning driver Olivia Fox with the syndicated Steve Harvey show. A quote from mangement says there was no problem with the ratings for Fox's show, but they couldn't pass up a chance to get a nationally known comedian on the air. You may disagree with me, but I personally don't care for Steve Harvey on the air. Maybe it's because I'm trying to teach my kids decent grammar. To me, the guy just sounds dumb. (btw, I'm black too). Olivia Fox sounded very articulate, had a classy presentation, and was LOCAL. Harvey sounds like a buffoon. Am I being overly harsh? NO Harvey is syndicated by Premiere which is owned by CC, so maybe it's a cost-cutting measure. Whatever the reason, it's the black community's loss.

100% agreed BJohnson===Harvey absolutely destroys the English language and thinks it is cool. He does not talk hip, he talks country. To me, he would be more at home on a country station, except for all the profanity he uses, even though he claims to be a Christian But he's on both stations I used to listen to in the mornings. I've switched to Tom Joyner, but the two stations have seen their ratings jump, so I guess Harvey must be on to something....

And coming Monday morning to WJHM/Orlando, according to the Orlando board.

I have a few Questions about the Steve Harvey Show. How Does the Show work on more than 1 Format His Show is on Both Urban Hip-hop R&B and Urban AC R&B Classic Soul (no Hip hop). Do the Urban Stations not Play Rap During the Morning Show? Or Do the Urban ACs Have Rap during the Morning Show? or are there 2 Versions of the show? Or do the Local stations play their own Music between the Talk part of the show?
