V 103 ( Urban A/C WVAZ Chicago ) drop " The Tom Joyner Morning show " for " The Steve Harvey Morning show ".

Steve Harvey will be simulcast on both V-103 and 107.5 ( WGCI) until March 31st. WGCI will get a new morning show .

Is Tom Joyner out in Chicago?
Unless another station picks up Tom Joyner, then he's off the air in Chicago. The only stations that might pick up Tom Joyner would be Crawford's Power 92 & Soul 106.3. I don't see either station putting his program on either of their stations, when Crawford dropped Steve Harvey from Soul 106.3 last year or 2 years ago. No other Chicago signal has a format that comes close to what Tom Joyner's show would air, other than V-103. So I don't see his show returning anytime soon.

Syndicated shows are usually let go from time to time for whatever reason. But there is something about the TJMS Chicago cancellation that just wasn't kosher. One minute Tom is on, the next he's gone. They (Clear Channel-V-103) didn't even let him finish out the week, nor give him a proper sendoff. I am wondering did Tom Joyner p.o. someone at Clear Channel for his show to be cancelled so abruptly? True enough, Tom's ratings may not have been the best, but for someone who was on your station for 13 years, the owners could have given Tom a little more respect. Any thoughts.

I'm curious myself. Joyner has been on Chicago radio for years. There must be some other plan to keep him here.
