Steve Harvey show getting cancelled?

Back when King World had Wheel and Jeopardy, I had heard that they thought the popularity of the Wheel/Jeopardy combi would force Central and Mountain zone into an 8-11pm prime time

Jeopardy doesn’t have a prime access mandate, so it’s not an exception. Of course they try to get it into prime access in the east and west, and deservedly succeed. But it is scattered in daytime slots by necessity in many markets. They may be able to get Wheel the coveted slot across the board, but you can’t win ‘em all.

Jeopardy runs at 11 AM CT on WBBJ in Jackson, TN and that actually puts it at the same time the original version ran for most of its run on NBC. It also runs at 3:30 PM CT on WREG in Memphis.

Even if the central stations swapped Jeopardy and Wheel in some instances, now it’s Jeopardy that gets bumped sometimes. It’s basically a wash for the company. Extended news hurts either show in the east, sports hurt then all over on occasion....and on and on it goes. It’s the overall benefits that matter, not the inevitable occasional preemptions. You just bake that into the equation.

Don't know if this is true or not but I read an article that the rebooted Steve Harvey's daytime show is about to be cancelled after this season and is expected to be replaced by Kelly Clarkson when her show debuts next year. No explanation was given for this possible outcome but from what I heard, their ratings were not as good than his previous incarnation.

As for Kelly Clarkson, the trend of new talk shows just lasting for two seasons is a worrying trend for syndicators. Despite shows like Dr. Phil and Wendy Williams getting good ratings, the future of daytime talk is in doubt, and possibly within the next couple of years, they would be extinct from syndication altogether.

Perhaps look for daytime talk shows to be on Netflix or Hulu pretty soon.....

What else are they gonna put on tv during the day?

WAKA in Selma, AL has the earliest known broadcast of first-run Jeopardy! (possibly barring American Forces Network) at 9:30 AM Central. Despite this, the weekend run is relegated to Sundays at 2:00 AM. Supposedly, they accidentally aired a Monday episode of Jeopardy! early in the weekend slot not too long ago and got in trouble for it. Of course, WAKA airs Wheel consistently at 6:30 PM Monday through Saturday, but during the annual March Madness pre-emptions (which affect the 7:00 ET hour and onwards for two Thursdays and Fridays in March), they do not move Wheel to overnight or a sister station; they don't air it at all if it gets pre-empted.

Wheel comes on at 7PM on WWMT and Jeopardy 7:30PM M-S other than March Madness then they go on late at night at 2AM & 2:30AM. Jeopardy also is on CW7 at 10:30PM since 2012.
