Just found out that on January 2, WKKV (V100.7 Jams) in Milwaukee is replacing the Doug Banks morning show with Steve Harvey. Thoughts?

Too bad...Doug had excellent numbers in Milwaukee. I think CC did it to block WJMR from getting the show.
Doesn't WJMR already have Tom Joyner? And isn't he doing well for that station? I don't know of any Urban station carrying Steve Harvey, but the station in the Chicago south suburbs carrying his show has lost money carrying Steve Harvey, because of a weak signal, and because the company's Hammond Indiana offices have mismanaged both Power 92 & Soul 106.3. But I wonder if Steve Harvey would even work on a station like V100. I can't see it working out.

I do know that Steve is on two mainstream Urbans that I know of......KATZ in St. Louis and KPRS in Kansas City. He just started in the Loo, but in KC, he is doing well, beating Joyner there.

Steve Harvey is beating Tom Joyner in all the markets he is in but Chicago......

'cause Harvey is on a Mr. Microphone in Lansing. Tom is still winning against Harvey in Miami, Atlanta, Birmingham, Memphis, Little Rock, and quite a few others.

Harvey is winning in Philadelphia, Detroit, Charlotte, Kansas City, Charleston.

They're essentially tied in Washington, DC (both are getting beaten by Donnie Simpson on PGC)

One point to highlight is that where Harvey & Joyner compete, there are very few markets where both shows have signal parity (i.e. both stations have the same coverage and/or broadcast power). If you look at the stations where Harvey is winning, he's on the more powerful radio station, with Joyner being on pea-shooters (e.g. Philly, Charlotte, Charleston, Tampa, and to a lesser extent, Detroit). Conversely, the same could be said for Joyner in Atlanta & Little Rock.

I'm rather indifferent about Harvey & Joyner. They both have their strengths and weaknesses, however, I'm happy there's competition. That should improve both shows.

In a perfect world, I'd rather see local Urban adult shows make a comeback!
