Steve Kass, mid-day host on WPRO is leaving the station for a position in the Carcieri administration. Kass will become the new communications director for the governor's office.

He will continue to host Livin' the Good Life (a non-political wine show) on Sundays.

More in the Providence Journal here:

What's going to happen at WPRO now? Let the speculation begin. ;o)

Good for Steve! I'm happy for him.
It's a great opportunity for him to experience the political/government world from the inside. Given all his experience this job seems like a great fit.

It's going to be interesting to see if they give the job to Matt Allen or if they look for a bigger name.
John DePetro comes to mind immediately.
Did anyone else hear Dan Yorke last week when he was going off on Cranston Mayor Steve Laffey?
(One of Laffey's boyhood friends is John DePetro)
Yorke referenced DePetro several times that day including a comment about DePetro no longer working in this market "at least for now" or something to that effect.
At the time I recall finding that particular comment and his overall tone in mentioning DePetro repeatedly to be rather odd.
These two guys hate each other!
But now with the imminent departure of Steve Kass and an opening at the station
just maybe that was the catalyst of Yorke's sudden interest at taking shots at DePetro??
This is going to be very interesting!

I am sure it will be another conservative, but not quite sure it will be DePetro.
